Tonight is our “big tasting.” Menu In This Thread
I am bouncing off the wall excited. This is our first big “real” wedding event. I can’t wait to see how the tables are set up (they do several full sample tables to choose which layout, linens and china we want). I can’t wait to see and taste the food. I can’t wait to sample the cocktails. I can’t wait to try the cake. Squeeee.
Whew. Had to get that out.
Have you had any “big event” yet? If so, what was it and was it as exciting as you anticipated? If not, what event are you most looking forward to? (I’ll be honest, this tasting is the one thing Fiance and I have been excited about (besides the wedding) since Day 1!!)

We had our tasting this week too! 🙂
Enjoy, it is SO MUCH fun. I hope everything goes well. That’s awesome that you have options for the “look” of tables.

@Missido: Oh I forgot yours was this week! How was it? Did you take pictures of the food? (I am going to be obnoxious and take a picture of each dish. lol) Did you get to critique everything? How many dishes did you sample? How big were the samples?
I’m bouncing off the walls this morning. lol.

Ohhh yes!! We went on Sunday and it was such a fun day!!! It was a group tasting (our venue only does this once a year) with all brides for the year there, but it was fantastic! It was in our ballroom and it wasn’t rushed, it was just so fun to be in our room and imagine our actual wedding day there and meet with some of the vendors they brought in…. HAVE FUN!!! I wish we could do ours again 😉

@soyjoy222: That’s sweet that you are taking your mom with you. My parents are babysitting tonight, so that Fiance and I can spend a few hours there alone…but I’m sure they would rather be going with us!

@MrsLulu: Yes, take pictures! I totally forgot to take some but I wish I had. Ours was 2 full meals. One was “slow roasted prime rib of beef”, and the 2nd one was “chicken roulade” (stuffed chicken). Each meal was served with mashed potatoes and veggies. I was impressed by how good it was. We also tried a couple of the salads, and desserts. It was awesome.
So finally, we’ve decided to offer 3 options to our guests, the beef, the chicken and one vegetarian meal. Everyone will have the same salad and dessert.
Your menu looks fantastic!! I would love to be a guest at your wedding 😉

@Missido: Wow, two full meals is a ton of food! That’s very nice that you are offering a vegetarian dish. I often choose that at weddings!

@MrsLulu: We had our tasting two weeks ago and we all LOVED it! You will have a blast! When we went, I knew we were trying all of the food and cake choices, but had no idea we were trying 4 different wines too! I left there pretty buzzed haha

@Mrs. Fireworks: We asked to try their house champagne, two champagne cocktails (besides mimosas) and bloody mary’s. I have a feeling we will be cabbing home tonight. lol

@MrsLulu: Haha nice! They didn’t even give us “sample” tastings, but rather full glasses of wine. So I had 4 glasses in about an hour and a half… It was so much fun!

@Mrs. Fireworks: If we get full-sized cocktails, I’m toast tonight.
