- Wedding: August 2014
So for the last 2 months Fiance and I have been looking at venues that our planner has been sending us and we’ve been trying to decide.
When I found out that the beautiful castle from Monty Python and the Holy Grail is reasonable to rent for ceremonies, we got excited. But we had a more affordable option…
Until our number of guests increased and the more affordable venue’s price almost doubles if we have over 60 guests (and we’re estimating anywhere from 60-70). Wasn’t worth risking it.
So the castle can hold 120 and costs the same no matter what. We were thinking about a hotel about 8 miles from there for the reception, but the rooms were a little expensive for our guests. So we actually have this adorable house/hotel for our reception right on Loch Ard and in a forest!
And the fee for renting the reception space is having 23 guests stay overnight for a pretty inexpensive price (so it isn’t costing us). We can also provide our own soft drinks and alcohol (cheaper) and the kitchen has equipment that we can rent so we can save money on catering.
So excited… here are pictures.
Just had to share… there has been some stress with the wedding, so I’m super happy that we found some AWESOME venues that fit into our budget (not super low budget, but definitely less than the “average wedding cost”). =)
