I have to stop checking my registries. People just started buying things and I want to be surprised at the shower. I just logged on to add something, and 4 place settings of my fine china are bought!
AHHHHH!!!! happy dance 🙂
Now I cannot look anymore until after the showers!!

Yay china! It’s so fun to say, “Oh this occasion calls for the GOOD china.” 🙂

Oh man, now I’m going to go check mine 🙂

I know! I never thought I would be so excited about plates!!!
I’m going to have my Maid/Matron of Honor check the registries until after the showers and let me know if I need to add things at certain price points 🙂
I am TOTALLY going to spoil all my friends/family getting married from now on. This is so fun 🙂

Haha, that is AWESOME! I soooo hope someone buys us some of our china. Fingers crossed for 1 of the sets of grandparents to buy some of it..
I went on our Macy’s registry 1 day a couple weeks ago to add something, and saw that a few gifts had been bought.. our beer mugs, chips/dip bowl thing, and punch bowl set, but none of the stuff I REALLY REALLY want (like our shark steamer vac, dishes, bedding, or pots & pans) has been bought yet, but my shower isn’t for another 5 weeks & my wedding isn’t till June so I’m jumping the gun a little bit.. haha.
But, I’m excited that at least few things have been bought! My grandma bought us the flatware we registered for, which I’m thrilled about, since ours is all Walmart stuff bought for $1 or junky ones left over from college roommates during various moving in/out of different apartments. I have a shower coming up in 5 weeks (end of March), and I know people usually wait till the last minute to buy, but the person who bought up the chips/dip bowl, punch bowl, and beer mugs was on the ball, & got me checking compulsively every day now, with no new updates since then.. haha. I can’t resist :- I think I’m officially registry-addicted. Can’t wait to see what I get, though!

@kt23525: I’m in the opposite situation. FI’s grandmother bought all our china, but nobody’s gotten any of our flatware!
Guess we’ll end up picking it up ourselves later on, cause I really can’t see using IKEA forks with Kate Spade dinnerware…lol.

@futuremjm: oh how exciting!!! and so soon, your wedding isn’t until the end of september! i hadn’t thought of having Maid/Matron of Honor keep tabs on the registries, that’s a good idea. i’m not sure i’ll be able to resist looking though, lol

@linguo42: haha, so you’ve got plates to eat off, but no flatware to use.. I’ve got the utensils to eat, but no dishes to eat off.. Also, how exciting that your wedding is coming up soon!
My grandpa sent me an email a couple weeks ago saying my g-ma wanted to know what kitchen thing we needed most off our registry, and he said “She also said NO dishes”… I was like, but.. we need dishes to eat off.. it won’t do us any good to have lots of kitchen stuff but no plates…. haha. Didn’t say that of course & am thrilled we got the flatware, but I still don’t know why she specifically said NO dishes… not sure if she didn’t want to get it because of the cost ($75 a setting, on sale), or if someone else is planning on buying it (ie another grandparent), or what.. but then I started to get all paranoid thinking what if people think I’m being greedy for having some expensive things on there? (Despite the majority being $50 or under.. mostly under). But, I’m keeping it on there & keeping my fingers crossed that we get them eventually!
To the OP.. just wanted to add, good luck not looking at the registry till after the shower.. haha, I was rarely checking mine, accidentally saw people had purchased, and not check compulsively every day! Its so bad..
