You should be ok. If he’s well enough to be at work, he’s most likely not contagious anymore.

I would react the same way though, throwing up is my biggest phobia! 🙁

Ewwww–but probably not.  If he coughed in his hand and didn’t wash it, there’s a small chance–but since he is getting over it, there’s less virus in his saliva to pass on to you.  Make sure you wash your hands before you touch your mouth, eyes, ears, other holes in your body that germs can get it.

Ick.  Seriously gross, but again, you’ll probably be OK.

ETA: If he touched your lid and you’re really worried about it, I’d take it off.

I have been feeling the same way lately, so I can’t blame you.  I mean, I’ve been obsessive about it.  Stomach virus has been going around here lately.

Everytime future nephew comes over I cringe because he is ALWAYS sick and Future Mother-In-Law always gets sick after he leaves.  He lives in a house with several other small children, so the sickness never ends.

We all recently overcame a cold given to us by future nephew.  Then, Future Mother-In-Law got a stomach virus from being around him briefly.

Hopefully you drink was hot enough to kill the virus!

You are FINE.

There is a nasty stomach bug that’s been going around. A few of my co-workers have it and my husband got it and even pregnant I did not get it. <knock on wood!>

If he washed his hands & you washed yours, you’re fine.

Besides, if he was saying he was “feeling better”, he probably was throwing up yesterday. So he’s no longer contagious (most true stomach viruses are only contagious before the onset of symptoms).

@Mrs. Fireworks:  OMG That’s my biggest phobia too!!!  I went 15.5 years without puking too, then ruined it with alcohol on NYE…

I freak out so much this time of year too, but I feel like as long as you drink a lot of water and take some vitamin C and just breathe, you’ll be fine.  That and I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t still be contagious…  So don’t worry about it, in the end it won’t actually prevent anything (wow, totally unhelpful advice, hey?)

You should be okay as long as he washed his hands and you wash yours. I always have this big fear too. I tend to stay away from people with stomach viruses.

Darling Husband is staying home today after a bad intestine bug last night. :/ no puking but he looked terrible and I told him to stay home today. I don’t think you’re at risk. I mean…. as long as you are not around someone who’s puked or has the runs or use th same toilet after them… I think you’re fine!

Really the only times I’ve ever gotten the stomach flu was after I had to help someone who was sick or clean up after them. :/ Not pretty but I honestly can’t remember a time where I got the stomach bug from strangers.

yikes! you should be fine. most germs have a limited life span and cant live too long outside of a host. (not the most scientific explanation, point being you should be fine!!) i would have freaked out, too!
