I would contact Ebay right away. Im pretty sure there is something that says that if you win the bid you are obligated to pay that amount. Also, if you get to it first they might be able to see if he actually is scamming other people.

This is one of the many reasons I don’t sell on ebay anymore. If I were you, I would cancel the sale. There used to be a way to cancel the sale, so that the “buyer” wouldn’t be able to leave negative feedback. I had to do that a couple of times because of buyers that I really didn’t feel comfortable with.

Yea, this happened to me on eBay as well! Ugh!!! I was selling my textbooks and was so happy that someone bought my $80 book… well everyone else paid as soon as the time was up. This particular person didn’t pay at all. I kept talk to them about it and they decided “they didn’t want it anymore”. Ummm, that’s not how eBay works! You bid you pay!!! I called eBay (and they are EXTREMELY hard to get to, those dang eBay people annoy me so much), haha anyway, I had to wait the full amount of days. The person didn’t pay and their customer service was, “We’ll let you list it again for free!” Baha, ok gee thanks. Everyone else who wanted to buy it won’t buy it anymore because it’s too late, classes have already started. I was NOT happy.

Meanwhile, I catch a good deal on another textbook. It was a “Buy it Now” deal, so the money went out of my account right away. eBay sends me an e-mail saying that this customer is scamming people and not to pay… TWO days later. Um, gee thanks? So I call eBay and tell them the situation. They say they will pay me back, but I have to wait the full 7 days before they can process my complaint “just in case” they send me the book. Ok does that make sense? THEY were the ones who sent me the e-mail saying it was a scam… so they should know already and give me back my money. I don’t have $50 laying around when I’m trying to buy books for school.

No more eBay for me. Geez. (Sorry I am just so mad right now even thinking about it).
