Okay so I had just started a new job that I was really excited about… and then 3 days later they decided they didn’t have enough work for me to and let me go! Um, what?
So, needless to say I am pretty frusterated. I just quit a job that paid pretty decent, that has a mandatory 6 month rehire period. My situation is kind of tricky because I am going to school also. Can I just apply for unemployment… or is there a certian amount of time you would have needed to work at that particular place.

I do think you have to work at the place for 3 months if I remember right…

were you working before and then quit right away to take this job or were you unemployed before getting this job? I know in my state you have to have been working for 6 months straight to get unemployment. I’m sure it changes from state to state so I would pull up the website for your state and they should have more info there

You’ll probably need to check with your state; different states have different time periods for minimum amount of time before you can apply for unemployment.

You can try. The worst they can tell you is no.

I might be wrong, but if you are going to school full time you might not be eligible for unemployment…otherwise most students would be eligible.

I’m pretty sure students aren’t eligible for unemployment, because school is considered a “job”. I know it sucks- I’ve been flat broke from school or a while but there’s nothing I could do.
