Last month I posted about how I’d found a great dress but was still supposed to go shopping with my mom and sister (http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/think-i-found-my-dress-but-supposed-to-shop-w-mom-and-sister-in-jan) That shopping trip was yesterday, we went to three stores (EXHAUSTING). And… they didn’t like the dress at all. I’m not too disappointed, I understood their points about it, and we’d tried on so many other dresses they liked by that point that they were quickly rejecting ones they didn’t like right away. And when I put on the dress this time I wasn’t as amazed. But we didn’t find *the dress* yesterday. We found three that we all liked. But I don’t feel blown away by any of them. I’m tired of shopping now and sad that I didn’t find something I’m totally excited by. Did you all chose a dress that you immediately knew was the one? Or did it take some thinking and comparison to decide?

Here are pictures of the top three. I left the mirror in on the last one so you can see the flowers down the back of the strap.

This is dissapointing, I hope you have better luck on your next trip!
The dress I chose was at the second store I went to, but since I had other appointments that day I wanted to keep my mind open for other dresses. Also after that shopping excursion I went out again with just my sister to a couple stores. The dress I bought was stuck in my mind and I anted to see if I could top it at all before I purchased it. I didn’t, so I bought it!

Sorry that it wasn’t everything you’d hoped for. But to be honest you look stunning in all of these dresses especially the one on the right. Keep your chin up. You’ll find it.

Ooh your 2nd and 3rd dress are both really pretty

I went to more than 10 bridal salons before selecting my dress. And, even then, I have occasional “dress regret” because I’m worried there is something better out there.
I suggest you take a break for a few weeks or a month and then go shopping again.

thanks girls. i’m just feeling so much pressure to pick the dress this week while my mom and sister are here. ugh. i think i do need a few day break though to put it in perspective.

Don’t get frustrated! You look so beautiful in all 3, but you will get a special feeling when you find “the one”.
After my first shopping trip with my mom I was certain I’d found the one.. but after looking at myself in pictures I didn’t get that “special feeling” anymore..
My dress shopping experience:
My mom and I are very similar.. we’re not the type that will cry over a dress and well.. we didn’t! Haha! But there was definitely something about my dress that set it apart from the rest. We drove 6 hours to buy a dress that I was sure was the one, but once we got to the dress shop I couldn’t help but try on a few.. or 10.. more dresses. I saved the dress we drove down for ’til the end and when I put it on I looked in the mirror and said “yeah, this is the dress”. As I was standing there waiting to be measured, I couldn’t help but think about a different dress.. I asked my mom if I should try it on one more time and she said yes, that it couldn’t hurt. So, I tried on that other dress, and after walking all around the store in it decided that it was definitely the one! It just felt right.
Sorry, for the long winded story.. Bottom line, you’ll know when you’ve found the one. It will stand out and it will make you feel gorgeous. Good luck with your dress shopping!

My first dress was the one! I picked five and only tried on the one that really caught my eye. Good luck on searching! Oh and I went by myself. My mom and sisters are awesome, but this is something that I wanted to do alone, bc of too much opinions! But I invited my mom, sisters, and friends and had a swanky fitting session at my seamstress’s suite which definitely made the dress experience much better.

I know its hard but try not to get discouraged… i’v ebeen on over 5 diferent shopping trips… tried on over 30 dresses and even thought i found one that was mine… made me cry and all only to be disappointed once i saw photos…
I recently found my dress and ironically enough was NOTHING like what i had envisioned. this dress is a big deal and you need to take your time.

I feel the same way. Went shopping for the first time yesterday with the sole intention of buying online and just trying dresses on in store. Tried about 10 dresses on and none of them made me excited. Haveing a beach weeding in May -Cayman Islands and I cant find and flowy beach dresses. How is that? Afraid with Chinese New Year i may not get my order placed on time. Very depressing and Discouraging yes!

I bought the 3rd dress I tried on and whilst I still like it, I wish I’d taken my time and tried more on. Enjoy the experience. You’ll find something you love soon 🙂

I love the 2nd and 3rd on you!

take a leap and go dress shopping by yourself! (i wish i had) or maybe just bring one friend. too many opinions makes it confusing! keep looking and you’ll find one you love that really makes you smile. I bought my dress from the 4th store i looked at. (I also went to a 5th store, but kept thinking about the dress at store #4. )

They are all stunning! The third one is so different, yet timeless and playful at the same time. But you do look the happiest and most comfortable in #1.
You can’t go wrong with any of them. Go back when you are less stressed and try again. You will find a dress that you love!
