I’m Maid/Matron of Honor for my sister. We are having her bridal shower in April and decided on a theme as fun and nerdy as she is – Retro Futuristic.
By retro future, we mean the future imaged by people in the 50s and 60s – think of the world of the Jetsons. Flying cars, retro architecture, robots… steampunkish, but more colorful and optimistic. Sis is leaving the details to me, but said she wants lots of silver foil involved in the decor.
So, it is a fun concept, but how do I turn it into a nice bridal shower?
– Cute invites with retro future fonts and two robots in love.
– Maybe floral centerpieces made of paper flower created with metallic paper? (She is allergic to most flowers, so she might like that.)
– Dress up my Keurig with some sort of metallic overlay so that it becomes a robotic beverage dispenser?
– Have everyone participate in a game where we make silly predictions for the bride and groom’s future?
Can any of you bees come up with some out of the box ideas for this shower? Colors, decor, games, food? It is not easy to find any examples online!
Here are some retro futuristic images as inspiration!
