I posted a few weeks ago about a diamond I had picked (3.73ct OEC), and trying to choose a setting for it. I was worried about the color of the stone O/P, but had decided it would probably be ok. Anyway, we decided to pay to have the jeweler send it out to get GIA certified and it came back that it had a very tiny chip in the girdle. That, combined with the color, made me back out and order a ring elsewhere. The jeweler, trying to convince me to still get it after all, just sent a video of the completed ring and I am SO GLAD I didn’t get it! It looks VERY yellow, AND the setting isn’t how I wanted it at all (I had asked for a few changes from the original design). Listen to your gut bees… I’m so glad I did! I feel like I dodged a major bullet and can’t wait for my other ring to be here Tuesday!

It’s the best feeling when you know you were right! 😉 I agree that it looks yellow. Good luck with your new ring choice!

Ahh! I didn’t realize both those posts were from the same bee, haha. I think the diamond you passed on still looks beautiful in its new setting, but the ring you decided on is definitely something special! Glad you made it yours.

I think the ring you passed on is beautiful. A stone in that color range is going to be yellow tinted. I’m glad you went with what you love in the end, because that’s what matters.
