*hugs* I’m sorry to hear that he got in an accident and I am so happy and thankful that he did where his gear.  You are completely right that it is Crucial that they where their protective gear.  I have heard of so many accidents of my bf’s family where someone crashed or flipped or nosedived and everyone of those people tell me their story and tell me that they wouldn’t have survived without their helmet, jacket, gloves, and pants.

I am praying for you and your SO, and I hope he recovers quickly.

Glad he is ok.  Yes, it is scary.  I was in an accident (hit from behind by 2 cars) right before Thanksgiving.

Hugs to you both.  Now please see if he can go see a doc to get his head checked out.  If he has any nausea, dizziness, ringing in his ears, or vomiting, take him immediately to an e.r.

@runnerbeez: So sorry to hear this, and glad to hear everything seems okay.

But – i have to second what Bellenga is telling you.  I think this is one of those situations where you have to say “I don’t care what you want – you’re getting checked out” even if you get a friend or acquaintance to do a house call.  Head injuries can be sinister – please make sure to look out for all the symptoms bellenga mentioned, in addition to moments of confusion, set eyes (as in, his eyes don’t move for 3 seconds or more), unequal pupils, lumps on the neck, or excessive sleepiness (though if he hasn’t slept for 35 hours either, that could be part of it too!)

Good luck for the coming days – I hope his pain is manageable. I’m so sorry you two are going through this – all the best and take care of both of you!

As someone who works in an ER, please tell me he was checked out.  I hit my head skiing last year, got up, skied two more days, flew home, and was later diagnosed (possibly only because I work in the ER) with major neck and head trauma.  Please, even if he is stubborn, make him get checked out!
