I thought the thread about how your FI’s parents and your Parents met was about how your parents began a relationship. I’ll start a thread for that too!
Do you know how your parents met and how they fell in love?

My parents met in college and fell in love there. 🙂 I ended up going to the same college, which they were just thrilled about!

My parents worked at the same office. They were at a company party on a boat when someone started hitting on my mom…and my dad came and “saved” her. They were engaged two months later! 🙂

My mom was a rollerskating waitress. My dad was coming home from bowling. For some reason, that sounds like it happened in the 50s, but it actually happened in the late 70s! They were 16 at the time, and they got married at 19.

They met in a bar, that’s all I know! Being the romantic sort, my dad (who had already been married twice) told my mom that if she stuck around 10 years, he’d marry her. So that’s what happened, and they didn’t let having me 3 years into the relationship change that, lol. It sounds a little messed up, but they’re good parents so that’s all that matters. 🙂

I thought the same thing about the other thread.
My parents met in a bar where he was playing with his band (they were touring around at the time). My dad was the lead singer, he caught my mom’s attention, and my mom kept making him sit with her during his breaks. I think it’s kind of cool that they 1) met in a bar and 2) met when my dad was playing in a band. 33 years later, they’re still happily married.

My mom worked at a bank as a teller and my dad lived across so he came there a lot while he was in university. Turns out they sort of knew each other, their cousins were dating already!

My parents met through friends (who are my godparents). My SO and I met through friends. We are following the tradition. lol

My mom met my dad through mutual friends, my mom met her new husband online, and my dad met his new girlfriend through his sister. I’m not sure how my SO’s parents met!

My parents met in grade 9. They were high school sweethearts and they got married at 22! They are still crazy in love after almost 40 years of marriage. Very cute!

My parents met at a bar and my Dad asked my Mom out, but she declined. They both married, divorced, and reconnected shortly after their divorces at the same bar. My Mom accepted my Dad’s date proposal the second time. The rest is history! 🙂

Met in high school, dated for awhile, got pregnant, had me, Dad said, “Well I guess we should get married…”, married a year later and here we are 22 years later.
Mum finally got her romantic proposal on their 20th anniversary. My family and a few of my parents friends were all out for dinner for their anniv. and Dad tried to be funny and gave Mum her “1 carat” (a small carrot in a box), we laughed, then he knelt on one knee with the real ring (a past/present/future 3 diamond ring), told her how much he loves her and asked to have 20 more years with her. It was awesome, Mum was shocked!

my parents were high school sweethearts! they’ve been married now 41 years, and together about 5 years on top of that. what’s really crazy is that they work together. people assume that they met through work, but they met loooong before that!
the funny thing is my in-laws work together too! my mil got her first job bc she knew fil’s cousin and used that connection to get a job at the office where fil worked. so they sort of met through work, but it’s all bc of that one cousin.
dh and i don’t work together though so we aren’t following that tradition 😉

My mom worked at rite aid and my dad was super sick with a cold. He came in with a holey t shirt looking like death. My mom checked him out (purchasing speaking) lol. He told her that she had kind eyes. He came in again the next day.

My dad was my mom’s older brother’s best friend. They knew each other in high school (through my mom’s brother), but weren’t romantically involved, and my mom married her “high school sweetheart” right after she graduated. After my mom’s divorce (in her mid-20s), they started dating, got pregnant, had me, and got married. Very romantic lol.
