They aren’t for me, but I am ALL for brides wearing whatever makes them feel beautiful. And I’m totally anti- anyone raining on their parade.

I agree that that type of glove solves a lot of the challenges with ring time. It’s almost like a wrist warmer or something (thinking leg warmer for your arms!).

@honeybee1999:  Agreed. I think the look a little dated, but some brides are going for that theme. Whatever floats your boat!

I wouldn’t mind wearing gloves because Cinderella had gloves… and I like the look of ballgown and gloves. SIGH. I know the bees are not in favour. Cry

Not a huge fan and I don’t see the point in them. But eveyrone has a varying opinion on them – they just aren’t for me.

Gloves are something that the Bee has changed my mind on.  Previously I would have said no way, they never work but I’ve seen some here on the Bee that looks really nice and compliment the bride’s overall look.  I think it just depends!

I briefly considered them.  I think that it’s possible to really rock the look, and I’ve seen a few gorgeous pictures.  I say go for whatever makes you feel the most beautiful.

I think they tend to look 80s unless you’re going for a HARDCORE vintage look. (like if every.single.thing. from your wedding is 1950s, or1850s for that matter, then gloves could look really appropriate.) The key to getting them to look not 80s is to really build that vision of whatever era you’re doing, and pour everything into that.

Though admittedly, I have seen a couple bees rock the glove look with their modern weddings that have really surprised me. If you love them, do it anyway. If you look happy enough, people will always notice that first, and who knows–if you wind up making it onto Style Me Pretty, gloves may just end up being the next big thing.

I wore elbow length gloves for my senior prom in high school and overall the look was LOVELY!!!!

I wouldn’t wear them for our wedding though because it’s going to be a long long hot summer day and I’m sure I’ll be hot enough as it is.  Prom was like Oct. at night.

So in conclusion, I would consider them if it were a winter or cooler season!  🙂

They aren’t for me, but I do think that it’s a pretty glove.  I thought “vintage” when I saw the pic and it would be perfect for that type of wedding.  If it pulls the look together, I think it would be great!
