Hello. I’m figuring what’s left to pay on my August 31, 2014 wedding and here’s my breakdown:
Reception/Ceremony: Golf Club, (food, appetizers, chair covers and a flat $1000 open bar tab included) for 140 guests – $5600
Photography (with a no booth photo booth for favors) – $1800
Honeymoon (7 night trip to Cancun all inclusive for both of us, including flight) – $1728
Dress, Flowers, Invitations ( Haven’t picked dress yet, but will probably end up buying at David’s Bridal, using Sam’s Club online for flowers, and etsy for invitations) – $1500
So I’m roughly at $10,500. What is everyone else at? Thanks!

You have to take into account region, that seems like you’ve done really well! All of our stuff was about twice of each of the things you listed, but we got married in an expensive area, and of course Seattle has a pretty high cost of living so things can be more expensive in general than say, the midwest.

@MsJ2theZ: +1, region has a ton to do with it. My wedding will cost about $30k (cue nausea) when all is said and done. And that is below average for a wedding of my size in my hometime.

@freesmommy: all together my wedding cost around $45K, again like both PPs it depends on the area you live in.

@freesmommy: I am looking at $35,000 for the wedding event, $5,000 for the rehearsal dinner, and $6500 for the wedding planner. Alone that is $46,500. This budget does not include, engagement and wedding rings and our honeymoon to Bora Bora for 10 days.
Totally agree with SarahTee and Daizy914 that it really depends on where you live. In my hometown the average wedding is $28,000

Agreed, depends on the city and the venue. Our venue had one cater that we could use and although it was delicious, we were charged $220/person. We also chose top shelf unlimited alcohol. With the venue fee, chair rentals, limo, shuttle service, flowers, photography, videography, hair/makeup, dress, tuxedo, tip and everything we spent a little over $64K. And we got married in Denver, Colorado.

Mine was $25,000 which is basically the average for the area I live.

I’m a bit confused at what comparing your costs to others all over the world does? But my wedding cost about $60,000 and the honeymoon was around $15,000 and not included that $60 total.

@freesmommy: I chose a small town so that costs would be cheaper. In my hometown my wedding will cost me about $20,000-$25,000 but if I was to have it in Toronto where I currently live, it would easily be double that.

Another +1 for region. We spent like $50k on 90 guests, not counting rings/honeymoon/some other stuff. But weddings are expensive here!

We spent about $22k, including honeymoon, but we live on the East Coast and it’s super expensive. Our per person food and beverage costs were more than double yours and we had a lunch time reception.
Don’t forget to add alterations and accessories to your dress total.
Looks like you’ve snagged some good deals!

@freesmommy: If you include rehearsal dinner and honeymoon, ours will total around 60k, with the wedding itself being around 50k. Our venue will probably be around 25k for 150 people. The average wedding where live is around 30k, but I found that number to be very low while I was venue hunting.
Like everyone has said, region plays a huge part. Getting married in Southern California is not cheap.

I’m super jealous that food and open bar for 140 guests is $5600! That is one heck of a good deal!

@freesmommy: I’ll be between $25k-$30k when all is said and done. My goal was $20k. Oops. But that’s for 150 people in the Seattle area.

on second thought i’m editing this because putting the price down is making me sick to my stomach.
