We narrowed our on-line choices down to 10. Then we sent emails to find out the average price. That put us a 5. A couple were too expensive, one place only allowed beer and wine which we knew we didn’t want.  In one weekend we visited the five. So there wasn’t a question.  We made the decision that day.  This process took about a week.

We started right around a year in advance. We got engaged in June, just kind of casually discussed our ideas and a date for a few months and didnt start really looking around until October 09. We booked our first vendor in Dec. We booked the venue in around Jan-Feb. So, we didnt start seriously planning for about…. 6 months?

We got engaged last october, and didn’t find the right venue until about april.  =)  And I really didn’t even get into planning until two months ago.  Since then we’ve got about every vendor we needed!  It goes fast when you’re in the midst of it.  The only slow part is making decisions on decor!

The year mark seems to be when things in my area started to really book up. I’d start booking the hall and other important vendors pretty soon.

We got engaged June, and booked our hall in July, for next July. It was the last opening that our venue had for the summer. I’m glad we didn’t wait any longer.
