@MsInterpret: No ideas on where to buy them other than Davids Bridal or even Frederick’s of Hollywood, but I would purchase whatever I was interested in, take it home and try it with the dress and return it if it didnt work. Most department stores allow you to do that…just make sure before you buy it.

Seriously, I’d just go to David’s.  I tried on a corset there that had a bra thing built in and it sucked my fat rolls in and gave my tiny breasts some lift–it gave me a smooth sillouette.

@MsInterpret: maybe you could pretend shop for your dress and get another measurement?

Will Victoria’s Secret have something like what you’re looking for? (I’m not American, can you tell? Ahem). I’d also definitely look to get a fitting done before you shop – sometimes just a fitting can work wonders on your shape if you’re wearing the wrong size.

I have a corset bra type thing I bought at Dillard’s that works well.  I’d assume other dept stores would have similar items.  And I love, love, love the fit and support of Victoria’s Secret bras, but I don’t know if they have the type you’re looking for.  I’d hit the mall and check places out!

You want an underbust corset and a bra?  Giligan & O’Malley bras are a good quality for the price at Target.  As for a corset, you will have to buy that online.  I dont know of anywhere to buy real corsets at a brick and mortar store.  Corsets are such a specialty made item.  I am ordering mine from absolutecorsets.com.  Yeah if you dont buy a dress from a bridal store they usually dont want to help you out much.  VS is the only other bra place I can think of.

Have you tried figleaves.com or bravissimo? I know you said you didn’t want to buy online but I know at least Bravissimo have customer reviews for their bras so you know in advance if the corset runs a bit large or small!

Hmm. Maybe the sellers have just been a bit awful then!

I’m pretty sure that figleaves do free returns! A search for “merry widow” turned up some… interesting items but you might have some luck there.

I’ve been told that Nordstroms has a great selection of bras and lingerie in lots of sizes.  I’ve also had lots of personal luck with Fredrick’s of Hollywood, especially in the larger sizes which I appreciate.  🙂  And since FOH is very umm…lingerey, I think they have a lot of different types of items.

Good luck!

I got mine at David’s Bridal online. I knew I needed a long line. I also wanted to make sure it was long enough so it didn’t push my pudge into the middle of my midriff, the way many LL do.  It’s a Dominique.  This brand is available on several websites but their sizing is weird.  I tried it on in a DB store for size.  They only carried it in white in the store so I ordered off their website in ivory.  If you do order from the website, make sure you try it on in a store first.  Like I said, their sizing is off.

I didn’t want to pay that much but I looked at:  Nordstrom, Macys, JCPenney, Saks Fifth Avenue, Intimacy.  This was my best option.
