But I am happy to announce that Costa Rica is IN!
The Bees changed my decision on this one. After hearing numerous posts of potentially bad jet lag and too much traveling/not enough time in general (we are in the US and were planning on staying in NZ for four days because we couldn’t afford more because of the perks I wanted for the wedding, i.e. videography), I thought long and hard about what my Fiance and I wanted to do.
In all honesty, a mountain-top elopement in NZ is our dream wedding, but a four day honeymoon (+ tons of hours of traveling) is not our dream honeymoon.
It’s sad because I really was doing so well with planning the NZ elopement, but at the end of the day, I chose Costa Rica. We both adore the outdoors and animals and like to have beaches (and adventures) nearby.
So, the new itinerary is as follows: Arrive, spend the first couple of days in a secluded property so we can have a private stretch of beach for the wedding, get married in the rainforest and then take beach pictures (I also get videography! Yay!), and then stay in a small beach hut for the rest of the trip, relaxing and going on adventures as we would like.
Here is our new wedding location and wedding night accommodation:

I’m at peace with my wedding in a way that I have never been before. I wanted to thank the Bees here who cared enough to warn me about my previous plans. I am very thankful to all of you.
The great news: We get to spend 10 days there.
The even greater news: It’s still going to be a surprise wedding for my Fiance. I asked if he wanted to know, and he said no! Lol! He says he wants it to be a surprise.
The best news: Because of this decision, I GET TO GET MARRIED SOONER. As in, this October or November!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHH!
Again, thank you thank you thank you so much to everyone who warned me about my previous plans. It was really hard for me to let go of NZ, but I wouldn’t be sitting here with this happiness right now if it weren’t for you guys. 🙂
