How do you auction a spot in your wedding? I hope something works out for you.

I’m glad you seem to be feeling better about it! 🙂  I sort of skimmed the responses to your last post so I don’t know if anyone suggested this… what about a pot luck reception?  My best friend had one and they also included in their invitation a little card for people to write a recipe on and bring to the wedding.  It was SO CUTE and the pot luck was actually really really great!

I wonder if you could post this in some Star Wars fan forums and get some attention for your sale that way. Good luck!

Wasn’t there some girl in the news last week who did the same thing? I think the winning bid was like $5,000.  Not sure if that type of thing  will work twice… but it’s worth a try!

Good luck!  I hope it works out for you! 🙂  Did you try contacting any of your local news stations to see if they’ll pick up the story or cover travel costs for the winner?  Reach out to media people…you just never know!

I actually read something this week that a bride had auctioned a spot in her wedding party.  I think the going bid was like a $5000 or something.  Someone named "Nick" won the auction and he turned out to be a rep from the Dr. Pepper and Snapple Group. Not to be a downer, but not sure if they would want to sponsor another wedding.  I think they put in the final bid at $10,000 — mainly for publicity purposes.  Best wishes to you!
