- Wedding: December 2013
let me preface this with the following disclaimer: “love” is a relative term here. i haven’t actually tried on any dresses, or even gone to any shops/boutiques, just looked online. i also have plenty of time to plan around, strategize, change my mind, etc, and projected wedding date is in october 2012 (altho Fiance is now saying he wants to change it to end of september, but even that is all of three weeks earlier, lol). and lastly, this is just a rant, lol. i’m not really looking for suggestions or options…i’m pretty sure of my choices. i just wanted to share. you can share suggestions if you want tho…it IS a public forum. just wanted to say i’m not looking for them.
i went to a site that seemed to have a lot of choices just to get ideas, see what i liked. i had never heard of them before. didn’t bother looking at prices, or researching. i found this absolutely lovely dress…OMG is it gorgeous. simple and understated with a bit of beading and lace to bring it up a bit. just beautiful. Fiance loves it too. then i see the dress is marked down to just under $300 from somewhere around $500-600. ??? of course, it’s a chinese vendor. not knockoffs tho, these are originals.
most of you are probably saying “so what?” right about now. well…i have ethical issues with this. that cheap, from china, is definitely a sweatshop dress. and even if it wasn’t…i’d rather keep my money here, since our economy needs all the help it can get. i’m not knocking girls who go this route…to each their own. just a personal preference/choice.
anyway, now that you’re all shaking your heads and wondering if i’m nuts because i’m pretty much complaining that i found a gown that i love and it’s too cheap, i’ll shut up.
