@MrsWBS:  I must admit this is what I also thought, but I am suspicious by nature.

Too bad it’s not a diamond, but it’s still pretty!  It’ll make a great necklace!  I totally understand the forgetfulness of your SO.  I’m super forgetful.  I’ll put my phone in my purse and two minutes later, I’ll get frantic because I think I’ve lost my phone.  Lol.

That’s actually a really funny ending!  it would make a great ‘stand in’ ring for when you travel.

@ASH.:  That could be the title of your book: ‘The Fate of the Bathroom Stone’

Excited to see your necklace, it’ll be so pretty!

@ASH.:  Great story! Thanks for the update! My fiancé would forget an elephant if he found one lol!! And I live and work with him so unless he’s a secret genie he’s not cheatIng… You’re a very graceful and classy woman for the way you handled this Thread. Everyone in entitled to their opinion but its not always appropriate to say it. What people say about you says more about them than it does about you. I don’t know your story nor is it mine or anyone else’s business to discuss something other than what you shared with us and asked us, which was finding out what kind of stone that was. 🙂

@drummerbride:  Wow. You’ve made quite the assumption. And to that I say… Off with his head, he’s a lying cheat with a CZ in his pocket which he intends to slip into the palm of his paramour’s waiting hand!

This is an awesome story! We found a tiny stone in FI’s old house once…I don’t even remember what happened to it, so yes, people CAN forget about something like that.

I’ve been given a lot of crap in the past, b/c when people gave me any kind of present at school or work,I would ALWYAS leave it there…for DAYS. I can be really absent minded about things that fall out of my normal routine, so I can definitely see how your Fiance could have forgotten about a random stone in his pocket.

@ASH.: Yay – I think a CZ is still amazing and it would look great in a necklace!

@ASH.:  You’re handling all of the speculation so well, very classy. I think I would have flipped out a long time ago or left. But I’m glad you came back to update us, I second the children’s book idea!

I’m speculating about how it would have worked if it were real. If someone finds a random stone, would he/she send it to GIA for a certification, do they do that like with heirloom diamonds? What if it were a stolen stone? So fascinating! Does anyone know how that works? I’m glad mine’s laser inscribed!
