eeek. I never want to do that in my life. I can’t imagine the pain being worth it, or showing my most intimate parts with a complete stranger other than a doctor or nurse.

@dancindavinci:  First time is definitely the worst and its best to go at certain times of the month because of your period. I started doing it regularly after the first and have been pleased but it is not without pain.

I’m getting one next week, and I’m already mentally preparing myself for it. I hate getting em but love the end result.

First time was by far the worst and the healing stage sucked too, but I did go back a few weeks ago for round two and I’m glad I did, it gets MUCH better (but still isnt fun), but yea the first time was god awful.

Did you take ibuprofen beforehand? That helps a lot!  I’ll admit, it hurts for sure….but the first time is the worst and the results are worth it…..except for the ingrowns.  Make sure to exfoliate every day.

I used to do it regularly, the pain didn’t bother me but I don’t go anymore on account of ingrown hairs afterwards! I get the worst ones and I’m a picker and that is the most painful place to be pickin hairs out of LOL

It does get better and I swear certain people do it better than others!  Did they use wax strips on paper or hard wax?  IMO hard wax hurts way less so if they used the other type ask for hard wax next time. (Hard wax is also quicker!)

I actually don’t mind it that much!  I think eyebrow threading hurts more.  The worst part is the plucking of the stray hairs, in my opinion.

@dancindavinci:  Yes I have!  it was horrible!  But after a year of going back to shaving, I decided to give it one more try.  Still pretty painful.  But I went back 5 weeks later for maintenance, this time I used topical lidocaine I’d gotten from my dermatologist.  It was amazing!!  It was about a 4 on a scale of 1 to 10.  I don’t think I would have another brazilian without it!  They also sell a lidocain cream on amazon, I’m not sure if its the same strength but I’ve read the reviews and it seems to really help with brazilians.  You should try it!!  Also, the second time is not as bad because your hair is not as coarse.  Good luck!!

@cdncinnamongirl:  Does exfoliating really help with the ingrown hairs? I never exfoliate but prolly should, huh?

@dancindavinci:  First time I did it I was in pain for days..couldnt even wear underwear at night and had to wear a hot compress in my area lol. Slowly it got better and now 2 years later my hair grows back less and not as thick as before ant getting it done is like a breeze. Try it at least a couple more times. Trust me its gets easier oh and ps I hae the lowest pain tolerance ever and if I can do it so can everyone else!

@dancindavinci:  Oh and one more thing about your comment “maybe I’ll forget about how painful it was and try it again after a while.” – if you wait too long, it will be like the first time all over again!

I get them every so often.  It hurts like a mofo each time.  UGH.  The things we do for beauty!  I know there is a spay anesthetic you could use.  I haven’t tried it yet; I keep telling myself to get it and then, forget.
