I have retyped this response a few times…but I don’t find this funny at all.  Unless you weigh 190lbs, you were way over your states Blood Alcohol Limit, which is .8 incase you didn’t know.

The lesson to be learnt is NOT that you got a speeding ticket instead of going to jail, it is that you do NOT get behind the wheel to drive if you have had that much to drink.  Shame on you.

And before anyone suggests everyone drinks and drives sometimes, I most certainly do not.  If I drink, Mr.G drives, if he drinks I drive.  If we both want to drink, we host a party at home, take a cab or transit.  There is NO excuse for drinking and driving.

Glad you and no one else was hurt and that you learned a lesson! that sucks about the ticket, but you’re right, it could have been so much worse! Fiance got a DWI doing this (not the hands down the pants thing, ha!) and he is just now getting it cleared from his record. over 2 years later! I’m just glad he didn’t get himself or someone else killed.

@michkarose: you are not alone. My initial response was “why does she think this is funny?”

IN BC the blood alcohol reading for impaired driving has been lowered to .05. Any more than one drink and you will likely get charged.

If you have 4 drinks and drive, you are placing the lives or yourself, your Fiance and anyone else on the road in jeopardy. The fact that your Fiance thought it was appropriate to try to shove his hands down your pants while you were driving shows how alcohol impairs good judgement.

Uh oh! That post certainly didn’t get its intended audience. Haha!

But seriously, I do agree with PPs, that was a close call. Let’s not do it again.

I’m not going to lecture you because a) I’m not your mother and b) I think you know that drinking and driving is bad. But yeah… I see the humor in the hands down the pants part but not the rest.

@zippylef: Agreed.

I see the humor in the hands down pants comment. But I really don’t find drinking and driving humorous. I find it pretty irresponsible.

@stephanie63087: Once at a light, I leaned over and kissed Darling Husband, and he rolled forward and bumped someone’s car.  LOL. Thank god no damage!
