Of course, we all do right?  One time I was talking on the phone and making a carrot cake. I have a big basket that has all of my spices. So I add in the nutmeg, cinnamon, and what I thought was vanilla extract. However, it wasn’t vanilla, it was liquid smoke. The bottles are both very similar. (liquid smoke is for meat to make it taste like it came from a smoker) I didn’t realize that I did this until I ate some of the crumbs of the pan. Icky!

@mwitter80: Ewwww! LOL!

@chasesgirl: Awww so sorry about your cake! That’s frustrating! Can you salvage what’s underneath and make an apple pie sundae or something? Put layers of ice cream and apple pie in a glass and some whipped cream on top!

My first attempt at making ice cream last summer was confusing for me, there were so many steps!. I accidentally forgot to put in the sugar into my strawberry ice cream! It didn’t taste HORRIBLE but it wasn’t fantastic either, LOL! So disappointing especially after hours of anticipation!!!

I tried to make a chocolate-cream swirl pie (don’t remember what it was called exactly, but it involved melted chocolate and vanilla cream in a swirled pattern)… I swear I followed the recipe, which told me to melt the chocolate and then divide it in 3-4 spoonfuls, add it to the cream, then swirl together.

Something went wrong and the chocolate cooled and solidified almost as soon as it hit the cream part, and I ended up with four lumps of chocolate that wouldn’t swirl for anything. My fiance still refers to it as the “Poo Pie” incident.

Oh hang on. Who am I kidding? I had the worst baking accident EVER! I freaking ended up with second degree burns on my forehead and arm for splashing molten sugar on myself while making Italian buttercream icing! I still have scars!!! Darling Husband had to help me have baths for three weeks until my bandages came off and I could get my arm and face wet again. It was horrible and embarassing. The scars on my forehead are finally starting to fade although I’m still self conscious about them. I had a dream a few nights ago where someone asked me why I was disfigured. Uh huh. I realize it’s 1000x worse in my head than in real life 😉

@chasesgirl: somehow when bf comes over tonight I don’t think he will be eating the pie…

Um, well, that’s one way to brighten up his day, isn’t it? 😉

@Beluga: LOL!!!! Omg woman! You are too funny!

@chasesgirl: There’s still some stuck on my cupboards and mixer that I cannot get off. I’m trying to find the photo of my sad face with burns that I sent to Darling Husband…

Pink Lady Cake. It’s pretty much strawberry cake. I was making it for a script reading and I followed the recipe- I think- but something happened and it came out dense, PINK, and inedible. The outside at least looked presentable with the cream cheese icing- which I only did because my mom said you can’t pipe with cream cheese frosting and I wanted to prove her wrong.

Left: Pretty-ish, right? Right: “Um… interesting texture”
