(Closed) So I have a question about moissanite…

A unique stone that is a great low-cost option.

    A fake diamond.

A low-cost way to appear to have a larger diamond.

One of the above, and you should tell people it's moissanite.

One of the above, but you shouldn't tell anyone it's moissanite.

Just a reason to have heated debates on Wedding Bee!

Mulder and Scully have lived together for years without getting married...so who cares?

You don't have to tell anyone anything about your ring!

I would venture to believe that many posters only have moissy experience through the bee.  It could be people have the perception “it’s a fake diamond” or “a way to get a large looking diamond” because of the numerous posts, on here, that begin with “will my moissy pass as a diamond?” or “SO can’t afford the large diamond I want so we’re getting mossiy!” or “can you tell which is a diamond and which is moissy?” if that’s what we’re reading from people who are buying it, why wouldn’t people have those views?

@JellyFeet  betterthandiamond.com does not make moissanite, C&C buys the rough from CREE INTL. and then facets it into gemstones. BTD is founded on their product the Asha, wich IS a diamond simulant, and that is its purpose (so their core product the Asha diamond sim is “better than diamond”), moissanite came along way afer that, they carried it for a while and then stopped because of the color issue, then figured out a way to permanently make moissanite stones whiter (they also figured out how to re-cut them to a Hearts and Arrows round, but C&C isn’t having any of that and without their legal consent, BTD cannot re-facet their gemstones), and that is when they started carrying/making the Amora enhanced moissanite.

So, while the Asha (their core product) is a diamond simulant, the Amore enhanced moissanites and the future Amora Gem are not, but you are right, the business name can give you a headache if you think about it too much.

But, because they don’t like lining C&C’s pockets to make the Amora moissanite, nor do they like the cuts and color, they figured out how to grow a silicon carbide gemstone that is colorless and have six cuts for it that truly show the beauty of the stones. I cannot wait to get my hands on those gemstones! I’m hoping to help two guy friends of mine who are thinking of proposing next year get rings made with the Amora Gem (which their GFs are totally cool with, as after I showed them my moisasnite pieces, they’re in love!)

I just picked the mulder and scully answer cause I’m an x-files junkie and I love the romance between them. Even though they say nothing happend off screen before gillian anderson met her husband I still don’t beleive it. Hey if I had the opportunity to bone david duchovny I certainly would!Wink

If you don’t own the stone, why do you care?

And if you DO own the stone, why don’t you feel good about the reasons you decided to get it?

When me and my honey first started talking about the possibility of getting married, I told him I did not want a natural diamond. I cant see spending that kind of money on something to wear on my finger  when there are so many other things I could spend that money on and I didnt like the whole blood diamond thing. But everyone can prefer whatever they want. I love my ring and I couldnt imagine it being any other way. To me it is absolutely perfect. It is not a natural diamond but in my opinion why would the people in my life care whether or not it was. As long as you are happy with it then who cares what other people think or say.
