How sad this would bum me out if it were me.
But then I remembered when my mom annouced she was going to be a grandma and everyone was sad because I was just about to graduate high school and my brother was a freshman still. When she said oh no its my step-son they were relieved. But this mom’s reaction was really like what!! Who calls their daughter that?

@Mrs Christopher: Who texts their Mom news like that?!

That has to be fake!
Who would honestly text their mom that they were pregnant!
AND what person doesn’t see the name of the person texting them above the text???

Yeah, I’m going to call shenanigans on that. If one has a relationship that makes one think ones mother would be excited about having miss, one usually doesn’t just send a text. Even if you can’t see them, one usiually gives a phone call.

While it certainly could be fake… I’m not totally sure. With some of the “reality” tv shows they have now and the way people act on them, very little surprises me anymore.

HA !! then you do not know my mother. When I told my parents I was pregnant, I was 29, engaged, and she told me she was disappointed in me, embarrassed by me, and could not believe I would do this to her, and what would people think of her. 8 years later, we no longer talk. No explanation needed for that one.

@charmedbee: That’s sad. 🙁
@Schatzie821: Like you I think it could be fake but with the way people act today I’m not sure either. I know at least two people that annouced their preganacy by text or on facebook even with a cute graphic of some sort. (These people were married to their spouse too.) I have more of a problem with the mother calling the girl a wh*re. That’s not very cool. If I had a teenager that was pregnant I wouldn’t call her a wh*re for getting pregnant. I don’t think that’s okay.
Today as I was leaving my house our next door neighbor. (Who I loathe.) Was talking to her friend about how she text her mother and she said “You little whore I can’t believe you talk like that I thought I raised you right.” I dunno how real that is but talking to your kids that way, or kids talking to their parents that way is just not okay in my book.
