I hope the dental floss works for you. Just in case it doesn’t, my husband had to have his wedding band cut off because he cracked the bone right above the knuckle on his ring finger. When we went to ER, they told us the ring had to come off. It was a straight cut through the ring. There was no other damage to the ring other than the slice. It didn’t hurt my husband at all even with a cracked bone. After his finger healed, we took the ring to our local jewelers, who sized the ring up to fit his new finger size. It looks like new. You can’t tell the ring was cut off at all and it only cost around $40.00 for the repair. Good Luck.

That’s good to know the repair was so cheap. I *think* they have to cut the ring anyway to size it, so Fiance said if anything we should get a discount because he will have done half their job for them, lol. I am quite determined to have the dental floss works and I don’t care how much it hurts so long as it comes off. Cutting it is my absolute last resort and I would just get Fiance to do it rather than wait 10 days in a Canadian ER.

If you stop messing with it, the swelling should go down some just from that. Your fingers should be less swollen in the morning compared to nighttime. Cut out as much salt from your diet as you can. If it’s not cutting off your circulation, you don’t need to have the ring cut off.

They do have to cut it when they resize it. I hope all goes okay!!!

I got my promise ring cut off at one point. I went to a small, local jeweller’s and it was fixed so you couldn’t even tell where it had been cut.
