SO is currently home for his spring break, since we go to different universities and our breaks are always out of sync. He has been VERY adamant about going to the quarry near my house sometime over his break, and he decided that we were going today and then to dinner and it will be some big cutesy date. He is really excited about it, and insists that I wear a nice DRESS to walk to the quarry. This quarry has sentimental value to us, it was one of our first dates before we were officially a couple over three years ago and we like to venture back occasionally to reminisce. It’s a really nice day and the quarry is a very picturesque place, it’s in the middle of the woods and so it is very secluded and romantic. At first I was livid that he was making me wear a dress and nice shoes to a place with lots of dirt and plenty of opportunities to ruin my clothes, and I begged him to let me change into something nice AFTER we go to the quarry before our nice dinner he has planned, but he absolutely would not let up. This made me really suspicious as to why in the HECK we are supposed to be looking all cutesy and nice for no reason, especially when it is only supposed to get up to 50 degrees today and I HATE being cold!! Both my parents have asked me about it, and this morning my mom was grinning very suspiciously and kept asking what color dress and which shoes I was planning to wear, and she kept saying “I don’t knowww…that is weirddd…” like she knew something was going on. She is not very good at keeping secrets.
I don’t know what to think, over the past couple months SO hasn’t acted like anything was up, and as far as I know he hasn’t stepped foot in a jewelry store, although we decided on a ring setting browsing online last Christmas. We both have jobs lined up across the country after graduating in May, and he promised me we would be engaged before we make the move and start living together. I don’t want to get all excited about something happening today if it really is just going to be a nice date. I mean, I am excited for the date in itself, but all of this mystery behind it just makes me anxious! I have jumped to conclusions before and I really just want to enjoy the day and not be disappointed if nothing happens. Word of advice, Bees???

blushblossom91: Based on everything you’ve said, it certainly sounds as if this could be your proposal.
Please don’t forget to update us after your date, even if you also decide to post a new thread to make any big announcements. 🙂

I read similar story before on the board and it ended up not a proposal… though the guy gave her a very pretty jewerlly.
So don’t get your hope too high, just dress nicely for the date. I was expecting my Fiance to propose in vegas last year….and nothing happened………… I was so disappointed, so yeah, just enjoy the date

That’s so exciting!!! I wouldn’t be too woried about being disappointed if it doesn’t happen. You still know that it’ll happen eventually, and being excited about something feels good!! I went through a couple of “falsies” before it actually happened myself…enjoy it!!!! 🙂

Come back and let us all know what happened!!! Try not to get your hopes too high though. All signs seem to be pointing to a proposal, but he could just have some other big news in store. Or he may just have the sudden urge to be super romantic because he loves you so much. I’m anxious and excited for ya to find out though!!!

IT HAPPENED!!! And I still can’t believe it!!!!!! Yesterday was the happiest day ever! Sorry to leave you all hanging, I was in a total daze (a VERY happy one)!!! I will post again later with more details, but for now here is my gorgeous ring! Sorry it is a huge picture, I am not sure how to cut it down. The center stone is my great grandmother’s from the 1930’s, it could not be more perfect for me. I am on cloud nine right now!!!!
