Hello fellow bees!
I’m mostly a lurker (guilty of ring porn’ing it). A couple months back, SO’s mother gave us her diamond when we announced we were looking for rings. After searching high and low for the perfect setting, it’s finally done being made.
SO has the ring, showed it to me, let me try it on, and then told me to give it back! Not fair!
I’ve been very patient this whole time until now…. (i’m sure many of you bees can relate, please tell me i’m not the only one)
P.S. I found his “not-so-secret” hiding spot, how do I keep my mind off of little miss sparkles (my ring) *HELP*

Uh, I would probably try it on EVERY day. It’s going to be more special if you don’t look at it or put it on until he gives it to you! Focus on the holidays and your relationship as a whole! You know it’s coming so just relax and let him work the magic ๐

I can offer no real advise about waiting for your ring. I practically forced my Fiance into a proposal once I knew he had the ring. But, if you want a special moment just continue to wait.

I am still waiting, but SO put a deposit on my e-ring about 4 months ago. Maybe a timeline of 6 months since purchase to proposal I hope for me.. *crosses fingers*

@MademoiselleL:hehe, congrats! i hope it’s sooner rather than later for me too… now that i know it’s in his possession, it’s such a huge tease!
@HopefulInLove:thanks for the advice, you’re right… i don’t want to ruin the surprise for myself.

My fiancé proposed one week after I picked the ring out, which ended up being like 3 or 4 days after he got the ring. Good luck! I hope it’s soon!

Eek – that 18% that said longer than 6 months….how did you do it?! I am banking on Mr. PB being too excited to wait once he has the finished ring in his pocket. This makes me nervous!!
@MissKat03: Yay for your finished ring! That is so exciting! When you figure out how to keep your hands off it, please share. My ring should be coming home next week and I am already doubting my ability to keep away from it ๐

Fiance and I went ring shopping together (I’m awful particular about my jewelry). She did her best to keep the guise going that she was not going to propose for a long time after the ring was purchased (October). However, around Christmas, I started getting REALLY antsy and Fiance kept telling me she had the date, I just needed to be patient. Well, she surprised me on Christmas morning with the best present ever – a proposal (and my ring!). Best of luck while waiting…it’s tough, but the propsal is sooooo worth it! ๐

Eee! Yay for having the ring made! Boo for an uncertain waiting period, haha
I recently had an epiphany: If I want a surprise proposal (which I do), I have to trust that SO has a plan that he’ll act on when the time’s right. So I need to stop bugging him and bringing it up since we’re pretty close now to it happening.
In your case, he’s already got the ring, so you KNOW he’s thinking about doing it… Do you want to be surprised? If so, maybe tell him to pick another hiding spot so you don’t see if it one day isn’t there (since then you’d know it was coming!)!
