AHHHHH. I’m so sad!! My SO works in the oilfield, it’s basically a 24hrs a day, 7 days a week operation. He gets 6 days off a month, and it’s really too bad those days off don’t fall on Christmas this year. >:( He just left the house, and is *hoping* to be done work friday morning, and then he’ll be rushing to the nearest mall (which is 1.5hrs away) to get his christmas shopping done!! I just wish he were home!!!! If work ends up taking longer, there is a small chance he won’t be here christmas morning. If he’s not here, I don’t know what I’m going to do with our kids!!! They will be dying to open presents, but we can’t do it without him. Bah, I’m just in such a pissy mood now. Thanks for listening to me whine!

I’m sorry that he is gone! I was thinking my husband was going to be gone for Christmas as well but he came back last weekend.

Aw, huge bummer! I’ll keep my fingers crossed that he’s home by Friday. If not, perhaps you and the kiddos could do more of a “mommy and little ones” project together to waste some time away in the morning. Bake and ice a batch of holiday cookies, create some popsicle stick Christmas stars or hand stencil reindeer, or pop in some Festive movies to watch once you’re all awake.

@MrsSaltWaterTaffy: Don’t you love it when they come home early???
My girlfriend thinks he’s planning some sort of surprise, because he’s been hinting at a christmas proposal so we’ll see! I told him not to worry about going to the mall to buy presents, just come home so we can spend time together as a family and he said “I’m not going to be that jackass guy who ONLY buys his girlfriend a ring for christmas!!” AAAH! I knew a proposal was in the works, but I didn’t know for sure it would be around christmas. But now I’m not sure if he’ll still go ahead with the christmas proposal after he let the cat out of the bag like that.

@izziebear: thats a great idea, if things don’t turn out!!! I’ll need to keep them busy and far far away from the presents! Thanks
