I cant help much per se.  My ring came from 47th st but from an overheard store and the transaction was virtual.  But I am very happy with it and Fiance liked the experience.  I have heard that the stores on ground level can be a bit pushy and the wave at you from inside type.  So I guess be pretty careful and conscious of whatever your game plan is.

definitely go to michael c. fina.  while we didn’t get my ring there, they have so many different designers/styles to look at, and i found the sales people to be very helpful/friendly.

Michael C Fina is great, BUT SUPER expensive. Go to ID Jewelry and ask for Yeuketel (he is very well known on the pricescope boards), they have THE BEST pricing and super nice customer service. The address is 8 west 47th street. (we were just there yesterday!)

There is a TON to choose from, and while they are a little pushy trying to get you in the door, once I was trying rings on I didn’t feel too much pressure. I was disappointed at the lack ofyellow gold rings, but I know they aren’t all the rage right now.

My wedding band is from 47th street,  We went to Liori diamonds, but you have to make an appointment to set into their show room.

Norman Landsberg is great.

Problem with the Diamond District is that it’s hard to find a place that can verify the source of the stones.

@lobbyart:  As long as you make sure to actually SEE the GIA report and look at the stone under the loupe to match the inclusions on the report to those of the stone, you can generally trust what is being sold to you!
