I just discovered this program for Mac that is definitely going to be a lifesaver for me, and had to share it! I’ve been using Excel to manage my guest list, checklist, gift lists, etc, and some of these spreadsheets were getting MASSIVE. A family friend suggested I make a Microsoft Access database to get more organized, but I have a Mac (Access is PC-only) and Access is pretty complicated, anyway.
After some curious Googling, I found Bento! It’s a veeery user-friendly database program — way simpler than Access or Filemaker Pro. You can import your Excel spreadsheets, and then it lets you edit each record (i.e. each guest gets their own little page where you can enter any info you need) individually or look at the whole list. I’m not doing a very good job explaining it, but trust me, it’s a lot easier to use than a giant Excel spreadsheet.
If you have a Mac, you can download a free trial from the website. I realize I sound like I work for the company and am trying to sneak in an advertisement or something, but I swear, I’m just a regular bride who can’t believe I didn’t discover this sooner! You have to try it!
Comment if you have any questions. =)
OH, and it has an iPhone app! You can have all your wedding information with you at all times! Just what we need, right?
