buah ha ha!!!! My Mother-In-Law has been known to make awkward comments about my DDs…..she hasn’t done it in years but it always made me SO uncomfortable! I’d DIE if she went and picked out bras with me.

Haha. Bless her heart. Sounds like she’s truly trying to be helpful and motherly. 🙂

Haven’t gotten any gifts like this yet, but not sure mine is the type.

P.S. White satin lingerie sounds bridal-y. Granted, I can’t see it, so it may be worse than I’m picturing. But she could have gotten you something much more risque, which would be much more awkward. 🙂

Sorry for the awkwardness!  I think she is trying to be motherly.  Maybe the lingerie is for the wedding night?

That’s so sweet of her… awkward, but sweet!

My Future Mother-In-Law hasn’t done anything like that, but can I just say my ex-BF’s mom gave me a GIANT box of condoms for Christmas one year– ummmm thanks???  Now THAT was REALLY awkward!!  WHO DOES THAT??  Undecided

Too funny! My Future Mother-In-Law just makes awkward comments. My Fiance about died yesterday when I told him what she told me on the phone this weekend. We just laugh about it because she doesn’t even known what she is saying half the time.

Awww, I’m sorry you feel awkward…

It sounds like the two of you are pretty close… some women are just a bit different/more open about these types of things, lol.

Oh I have you beat my friend… my husband’s GRANDMOTHER gave me lingerie at my SHOWER in front of pretty much every woman I know.  I wasn’t sure whether to laugh or cry.

HAHAHA I could have written this post! My Future Mother-In-Law gave me very risque lingerie for a trip Fiance and I took to NYC- the one where he PROPOSED! AND she knew he was going to pop the question….AWKWARD. To make it worse, she even told me mom how it made me blush when I opened the box and saw what she had bought. My mom was like, WTH was she thinking??

We’re not super, super close so it was definately awkward. She buys this kind of stuff for Future Sister-In-Law and I guess she thought we could bond over it?? I don’t see how you would want to “dress” your FDIL to please your son?? My Future Mother-In-Law doesn’t seem to be in the same reality as the rest of us so WHO KNOWS what she was thinking!

@ddubzz, my mom gave me some flavored lube one time and implied it would make it special before he got deployed. Barf.

I can totally picture her saying “go try it on honey!!!”. Did she ask you to model it? LOL. But you know, those grandmas and aunts can be quite kinky–i’ve been to more than one shower where the most risque lingerie comes from the grandma and the aunts!!!!!

no awkward gifts, but I have had a few incredibly awkward conversations with her and my SIL. We’ve talked about how big breasts get when breast feeding because SIL brought up some challenges a lady she works for has been dealing with. We’ve had conversations about childbirth and nursing vs. bottles, all that, and we’re definitely not TTC for quite a while.

Oh well, I guess I’m glad she feels comfortable bringing all of this up!
