Congrats and welcome! First thing is a budget!! You need to know what you can spend before you look for ANYTHING!! Next, pick an aesthetic.  Do you want formal or more casual? Modern, vintage, or traditional? Did you set a date? Outdoor or indoor? How many people (to make sure your venue can accommodate everyone)? Check out some inpirational sites such as this one, stylemepretty, snippetandink, ruffledblog, etc.  Use descriptive terms for your wedding to narrow down the feel you are going for! Things will start to fall into place! I hope that helps!

Set a budget first so you know how much money to put towards what. Then I would start to look for a venue that has all of your needs for the price you can afford. We had the worst time with this and it took us about 4 months to find the perfect place to have our reception. So definitly start there.

After you’ve found the venue then you can start booking the vendors and what not. That’s the funnest part, for me at least. Just pace yourself and don’t get too stressed out about it all. This is a really fun time! It all ends up falling into place. Good luck!!!
