It’s worth the stress to be able to have my family and friends celebrate the best and biggest day of my life with me and my Fiance. If this adds a few gray hairs and wrinkles, then so be it. πŸ™‚

Congrats on your upcoming nuptuals!

I’m getting married in 18 days and have no stess even though people keep saying, “I;m sure your so stressed out right now.” We’re having a pretty simple, relatively average sized wedding and so far I have had NO problems with friends, family, vendors, bridal party, et. I think it’s all in the was you see things.

@ladeeeda:  Amen sister! We had a courthouse wedding and I can’t imagine doing it any other way. I hate stress and would never willingly subject myself to it. A big wedding is important to a lot of people, but I just wasn’t one of them. Congrats on your upcoming stressfree wedding. πŸ™‚

I didn’t elope but I had a teeny tiny affair (11 people, total) and LOVED IT.

And–I tell people this ALL THE TIME–but ancedotally, there isn’t a single person I’ve met who eloped or did JOP and regretted it. I’ve only heard regrets from those who did the big, white wedding.

I’m not saying that one is inherently better than the other, just that it appears to be a matter of temperament and those who buck tradition appear to be a little more in tune with theirs πŸ™‚  Let me rephrase: a higher precentage of those who buck tradition tend to be more in tune with their temperaments πŸ™‚

LOL  Congrats on your upcoming, stress-free elopement!  I’m not ashamed to say that yes, I’m a bit jealous.  πŸ˜‰

I would have loved to run away to some tropical island and marry my Fiance just the two of us.  But…we both really want our parents and siblings to be there on our special day(the only guests we actually care that show up to be honest).  His family would have gladly flown to the Caribbean to see us married, but my family doesn’t have the money to do that(I would have had to pay for them).  So we are still able to  have our beach wedding, but within driving distance for my family.  This also now allowed for us to invite more of our close friends(many of which are within driving distance as well from our Florida wedding).

It has been a lil stressful(THANK GOODNESS I’m not planning a large wedding, soooo not me). But I’m glad we have decided to do it this way.

Lets be smug together!

@BothCoasts:  I completely agree. I’ve never met anyone who regretted not having a big wedding, but I’ve known tons who did regret having one. I know that’s not everybody, but it’s been my personal experience.

I am 26 days away and am stress free! We are having a small Destination Wedding in Mexico, but it has been a blast to plan. A little stress when we started, but I squashed that pretty quick!!

Congrats on your wedding!

Do all of you “stress free” brides feel like you are maybe a little more laid back than the average bride? I have thought that throughout the entire planning process about myself. Not that I haven’t cared about the decisions I made, just never wanted to freak out or nit-pick.
