I’m a triple D and going braless…. I’m sure with the right alterations, it’ll be fine.

My mother hates my dress too.  And loves my brother’s fiance’s.  So that’s all. I. hear. about.

I feel your pain.

@CV888:  first of all, how important is it to you that she doesn’t like it? If you LOVE it, you should wear it.  After all, she’s not the one marrying you in it.

Secondly, try the sticky cup bras, that’s what I wore, was perfect.

My mom isn’t fond of my dress either but I never let her opinion sway me! If you love it, that’s all that matters! I’m sure once she sees you all dolled up in it on your wedding day she will love it.

Go with the one you love – it is your wedding, after all!

If your mother doesn’t like the dress, then it’s a good thing she doesn’t have to wear it.

It’s your day, not your mother’s. Rock that dress and post some pics 🙂

Your mom sounds like a pill. It’s great that she likes a certain type of dress, but our generation has a lot more options these days and I would even argue that many of the non-ballgown designs are much more contemporary anyway. (Not hating on ballgowns though at all!)

And if you want to wear a bra, wear one, have cups or something sewn in. If you don’t want a bra – go braless. Luckily it’s not your mom’s decision and there are probably very few legit reasons for her to give you a lecture. Most dresses are so thick no one would ever know anyway.

@louvelove:  Did you mean this Ender Legard Carmen corset? It’s a nice piece of work, but a bit pricey.

@CV888:  OP, if you want alternatives to sewn-in cups (although I think that’s likely the best option), check out these backless longlines (all with pretty great reviews):

  • Va Bien Backless Bustier ($69)

  • Flattering Me Longline Bridal Bustier (*seamless) ($79-$99)

  • Carnival Invisible Plunge Longline ($40)
