A little background first- they have a songlist of songs they know how to play and asked me to send them a list of songs we would want played, songs that are optional and songs for a do not play list. I spent a couple days going through all these songs and selecting ones we liked and ones we did not like. Well….
Today, 5 days from the wedding, I get an email from our band with the songs they are going to be chossing from for the evening. It does not match our list AT ALL! They have multiple songs are there that were on our do not play list. And only a handful of songs we actually picked and liked. The others are random ones they selected.. not ones we chose! Some of them I have never seen on there list but def would not want them to play! Miley Cirus.. I can’t stand her! UGH
We are paying them way over what they normal would get for the play time too.. since we have a dj playing the end of the night for the last 45 min!
I thought i would vent here before calling them.

that seems really strange.. maybe they accidentally sent you someone else’s list. That’s also weird they would send you a whole list… we are giving our guy a list of “must plays”.. and we can give him a “do not play” list. but i kind of want to also give him free reign to play based on what my guests seem to be “feeling” if everyone is fist pumping to something up beat, keep that on.. but if it seems like something else is what is keeping people on the dance floor, then, well, play it!

Yes i want to give them freedom with it but we listed a lot of songs from their list we liked and it seems they just ignored it. For instance they have a lot of songs by the cure on their song list and i didn’t list any of those as ones we would like to hear… they have 3 cure songs on the list they sent me today!
This is just something that i don’t want to be dealing with the week of the wedding- especially when i sent them a list months ago!

Eh, if you sent it to them months ago they probably “misplaced” your list and will hopefully be more than happy to redo their list before your wedding this Saturday.
(It is the home stretch! Congrats!)
