I will look but maybe don’t worry so much about making your centerpieces floral.Especially if you want something different.

When we went to our venue’s open house, they had different centerpieces on each table to give all of the brides some ideas and to showcase their recommended florists.  They had this one that was a supertall thin vase filled with blue water, and the only thing in it was giant white feathers.  It was really stunning, and I bet it was relatively inexpensive to do.  You could add a flower or two to keep everything fluid.  Here’s something similar:

@Mrs Hedgehog: Dramatic, as in large-scale, bold colors, or both?  I was thinking that maybe you could have black linens, then find teal or purple chargers, and place a large, cylinder vase on the charger with a beautiful orchid inside (it could be the real touch kind to save you $).  You could add colorful gems inside of the vase to add more color, if you wanted.  I had something similar and they turned out gorgeous and were pretty affordable.  We rented the chargers from our venue for $1 each and we bought the gemstones online.  We sold the vases afterwards on Craigslist to recoup some costs.  I think they were about $30 each, with rose petals spread around them.

Always remember that just because you have seen it done, your guests likely haven’t. They are not frequenting wedding sites or magazines.

Could you adapt the idea in this centerpiece?

These are too big at table level for easy conversation but you could build on this idea. Use cylinder or trumpet vases with a harlequin print paper in your colors wrapped around the inside.Use colored feathers at the top with a  mask on a stick.
