@Stace126: Save them to put on a shelf in your kids’ nursery, if you have any.
my 4 year old has a giant pink puppy that i’ve had for years. He loves her.
so far, my sentimental stuffed animals are just mine. they will probably end up in the nursery someday.

My Fiance has most of his childhood stuffed animals. He just keeps them in a bin though.

Mine wasn’t a stuffed animal… it was a bald cabbage patch kid! Everyone says they are creepy but “baby” was my special thing. My grandma bought her in Hawaii when they lived there and gave her to me on my first birthday. My lord I took her EVERYWHERE. One night she got left in the bank, I cried all night. We went back the next day and the tellers had propped her up with someone’s sunglasses that got left behind the day prior too… I got to keep them!
She also went “swimming” in the fountain inside our one small mall… a very very nice security guard went wading in after her!!
Best story is when my mom started seeing my now-stepdad. I was 5, and he was living in New Jersey right by the beach. One weekend after we visited, I left baby there! I called my stepdad in tears and told him he had to PROMISE to sleep with her and not put her on the floor. He got teased for years, in fact still to this day, because his roomies came home and saw him sleeping with a cabbage patch doll 🙂 Mom knew he was a keeper for doing that!
When I was a bit older, I tried giving her many different “real” names, but baby always stuck. I slept with her through high school, she went to college with me, and even now she sits in my bedroom. Everyone thinks she’s creepy but I can’t help it I still love her! I guess it is a little creepy that her head is pretty much sewn on twice (hey… she literally went everywhere!!!) but other than that…. lol.
There’s a running joke that baby will go on our honeymoon.

- Wedding: September 2012 - Southern California
I have one. It’s a Build-A-Bear DH & I made together on our first dating anniversary [almost 5 years ago now ..wow]. She’s wearing a pink Dodgers (his team) shirt & a matching pink Angels (my team) hat. I want to decorate/give to any potentialdaughter. For now, the bear just sits on the top shelfof our closet.
I have also kept a Q-tip holder that DH got as a free gift after purchasing my ring. It’s so random, but so funny & kinda cute ;]
I don’t usually get attached to things or like to keep ‘clutter’ but these have never been up for negotiation or donation!

- Wedding: May 2013 - Pavilion overlooking golf course scenery, reception at banquet hall
I still have all of my staples who shared the bed with me growing up:
1. “Pinky” A pink dog that I won at a Six Flags game when I was like 8
2. “Simba” A white cat that I had since I was a baby, named after the real white cat we had at the time
3. “Hershey” A Pound Puppy brand dog that was my favorite to take to day care
4. 4 Beanie Babies: “Bones” dog (my first BB, bought before they were a trend), “Twigs” giraffe (my favorite), “Ziggy” zebra (shares my birthday, and was my 2nd favorite), and “Lucky” ladybug (not sure why I still have him, but was one of my first ones)
5. A black and white dog with a flower in his mouth, my first VDay present from my husband 🙂
I keep them in a cabinet in the guest room. If you open it, you’ll see them all “paired off” with their “best friends” of the bunch… because I’m a weirdo… hah.

My Fiance has one little stuffed dog on his night stand. I have a blankie I will never ever ever get rid of, and a handful of stuffed animals I will have with me forever.
Just don’t have a whole collection adorning your entire bedroom, and you’re set!

A stuffed llama that DH gave me for our first Christmas together. We had just started dating and I had commented on how much I loved llamas and that I had never found a stuffed one. He managed to track one down.
A monkey wearing jeans, a plaid shirt, and sunglasses from the time DH took me to Build-A-Bear for my birthday because I had never been.
A lobster from one of his visits home to Nova Scotia.
Several stuffed pigs and monkeys (inside joke related)
A well-loved stuffed grey cat I have had since birth
I used to have them on my dresser but now they have a special shelf in the closet. DH brings them out to make me smile when I am sick or upset. Lol

I have a blanket that I will not sleep without, I’ve had it since the day I was born and at this point its like half sentimental, half comfort. I say if my Fiance is fine with me sleeping with my baby blanket then I don’t care what other people think. I feel like if something is important to you (for any reason) then it shouldn’t matter what it looks like to other people. It may be childish to sleep with my baby blanket but it makes me happy so I do it 🙂

This isn’t even half of them! But each has his own night so I always know “whose turn it is” to sleep with!

@Stace126: I have 2 giant sized trash bags full of the ones I’ve saved. I used to be a huge collector as a child, but over the years I’ve sorted and donated most. I plan to display them in the nursery when the time comes and let our children have them. I do still have my baby blankey that’s in a keepsake box because I am attached to it. 🙂 You are not alone!
