I am a complete and utter idiot. Seriously. I MISSED A JOB INTERVIEW TIME SLOT. I thought it was 2pm today. It was 1:30, she called at 1:35 and I missed the phone call. I realized I had a voicemail a min or two to 2pm and called her back (left a voicemail), but if I were her, I would not hire me now. AAGGGGHHH. I have NEVER done this before. (I mean, who misses a job interview? Or is late to one?) Kicking myself. So so stupid.
I have a cold, so I’m a little fuzzy and slow, but this is zero excuse. I started earlier today to double check the interview time and got distracted and stopped partway through. SO stupid.

That is a huge bummer. I wouldn’t beat yourself up about it, since that ship has sailed. We’ve all done stuff like this. If you really want the job you can try to get another chance, or just cut ties & move on.

Oh man that stinks! Its like a worst night mare of mine!
Hopefully she will understand, we are all human 🙂
Keep us updated !

It’s OK, give yourself some time to vent and beat yourself up (only a little) and then if there is a way to fix it she’ll contact you. Mistakes happen–BIG HUGS!

Mistakes happen. Hopefully you will get another chance and blow them away! You never know.
My mom likes to tell the story of one of her jobs that her car broke down, she was rained on and covered in mud when she arrived to the interivew late and dirty. She thought she had lost the chance but went through with it. Because she thought she didnt have a chance, she was relaxed. The offered her the job that night!
You never know… just make sure you email them and explain the confusion.

It’s a second round phone interview so I’ll just have to pray my first round was awesome enough they’ll consider giving me a second chance… but even if they do, that’s a huge black mark. (Of couse, I’ve had interviewers call at the wrong time, but that doesn’t count against them, sigh.)
I’ve got a second round with a Judge tomorrow, which I now really have to knock his socks off I guess.

@lefeymw: Oh that’s comforting to know. I made it to my college interview late due to bad directions, but at least for that one, I had called an hour beforehand trying to get better address/directions from them when I realized I couldn’t find the address they had given me on the map, but no reply (their stove had broken so they went out to dinner). Pre era of cellphones and GPS too.

I missed my interview due to terrible directions and called about 10 minutes after my interview was to start. The front desk told me the boss had left for the day… I felt so bad. I came in the next day and she said I had the job she just wanted me to come in for a tour to make sure I liked the place… lol. I worked there for 5 years.
This last job interview I went to I thought I was going to be late thanks to a train but I made it 5 minutes early and didn’t get the job. =/
Sometimes things happen but people understand. Good luck!

I have a friend who showed up late for an interview. He got stuck in traffic and didn’t have his cell phone. When he showed up 1 hour late, the receptionist said “Mr. Jones, your interview was yesterday”. So not only was he late, but he showed up on the wrong day!
He rescheduled, showed up at the correct day and time, and got the job!!

I had a screw-up with a phone interview once. I was in TX and the interviewer was in New Jersey. We set up an interview time for 10am but I didn’t even think about the fact that there is a time change between our locations so that would be 9am my time.
I missed her phone call but saw her voicemail about 20 minutes later and called her back. She completely understood and rescheduled for later that day. I made it to the next round too but didn’t end up ultimately getting the job (although I don’t think the screw up with the phone interview had ANYTHING to do with it).

Well, I guessed at her email address based on the HR person’s address, so hopefully that makes it to her. I don’t think I can do any more without being pushy/annoying though.
ETA: Oh thank god! She will let me reinterview.
“Hi, Kay01. No apologies necessary – you’re human! *smile* I have seen your calls but I cannot speak now because I had a 2p meeting. I will not be free until 3:30p today so we can still speak if you’d like. Please advise.”
I called once at 2 (left message) and once at 2:30 (did not leave message).

It is 3:30pm now, so I hope you are on the phone with her as I type this! Sounds like a very understanding place, so I hope it works out! Update us, please.

That sucks! That’s a recurring nightmare of mine! In fact, I had an interview today and set so many alarms so I could make it in time.
Good luck! I hope you get the job!

Oh, no! THink positively!! Maybe this was for the best and this wouldn’t have been a good job for you and another one that’s better is coming!? ! 🙂
