My sister had me wear her e-ring during the ceremony and I gave it back to her afterwards.

I thought about wearing my e-ring on my right during the ceremony, but I want to wear a different ring on that hand.  So, I’m just going to give my e-ring to one of my BMs before the ceremony and they’ll give it back to me afterwards.

I am going to give it to my sister (MOH) to wear during the ceremony, and then she can give it to me after the wedding.

My engagement and wedding ring are going to be soldered (?) together, so I’ll be ringless before the wedding … not much help. 😛

I like the idea of having your groom put both on – it’s like another proposal!!  Or maybe have the best man or maid of honor hang on to it for a little bit.

Many people just put it on the ring finger on their right hand.

I wore my e-ring as normal, and had Darling Husband put the wedding ring on top of it.  I switched them after the ceremony.  I thought about wearing it on my right hand, but my right ring finger is about half a size bigger than my left one, and it was pretty warm the day of the wedding, so my fingers were a little swollen.

we are doing an extra part of the ceremony about the engagement ring – it goes something like this:

Groom, <span style=”font-size: 12pt; font-family: ‘Times New Roman'”>please take Bride’s engagement ring. This ring is a symbol of promise and intent. The promise is now realized and the intention fulfilled. Please place the ring above Bride’s wedding band to symbolize that the love which brought you together will always protect and sustain your marriage. These rings are a symbol of the trust you have together and the beauty and strength you find in each other.

<span style=”font-size: 12pt; font-family: ‘Times New Roman'”> The best man (or maybe my MOH) will hold my engagement ring until this happens.

I’m wearing mine on my right hand. I think it BAD luck to let anyone else wear it.

I was wearing a ring on my right had that was not the engagment ring, too, but for the ceremony, I just had both the engagement ring and the right hand ring stacked, and then moved the engagement ring to my left after the wedding ring went on.  You’re only wearing the two on your right for a short time even if they don’t really go together.

what about tying it to your bouquet? then you don’t have to worry about someone else wearing it or forgetting to give it back to you

Yeah, I totally forgot to switch my e-ring to my right hand before the ceremony so we had a funny moment when I realised it was still on my left hand right as my husband was supposed to slip on the band.  So we had a giggle, and I moved it over so he could put on the band.  No big problem, actually one of the funny moments that I really remember from the day, but I think most people switch to the right hand before the ceremony 🙂
