My in-law’s are amazing…I often say that I hit the in-law jackpot, not just my MIL/FIL but all of DH’s family: brothers, sisters-in-law, nephews, aunts and uncle, they’re all great. And they welcomed me into the family with open arms.
My mom and one SIL love Darling Husband, but the rest of my family only met him at our wedding, and haven’t seen him since. I don’t get along with most of them (save my mom and one SIL), and we definitely don’t spend time with them. They don’t know him, and he doesn’t really know them, so there’s no love there.

@OctoberBride12: LOL!!! My Mema (great grandma) can be very VERY opinionated at times, it’s like she doesn’t have a filter. Most of my family members try to tell her to hush, or just ignore her because they are embarrassed. Fiance thinks she’s HILARIOUS.
At least you get along well with the ILs 🙂

I don’t think I’m what my Future In-Laws would have picked for Fiance…but I don’t think anyone would have been good enough.
My Fiance was engaged before, and his father didn’t like his fiance…and I’ve met her (she’s lovely) and I got the distinct impression that the ill feeling was mutual.
Future In-Laws took against me after a trip we made last year (I’ve posted about this before). Main complaint seems to be that I was ‘antisocial’ because I didn’t stay up drinking all night. FFIL has a drinking problem – not an alcoholic, but a binge drinker. Living in the UK, it’s more sociably acceptable. Anyway, since that time relations between us have been distinctly frosty. I live approx 250 miles away, and I’ve only seen them once this year…
Like I’ve posted before, I’m 43. The opinion of my Future In-Laws is just that not important to me.
