When I was younger, I had piercings like this in my neck – 3 of them in a triangle. It was fun to talk about with other people but I couldn’t wear scarves and had to be careful with my hair and clothes. If they snagged, it hurt like hell. For some ungodly reason I kept them in for about 3 years. Regardless, I would never do this to my finger.

Not only does it look hideous but my mind keeps running through all the potential for infection. Preparing raw meat…. working in healthcare..ick.

I keep seeing those same 3 pics popping up, usually linked to articles claiming “Millenials are foregoing traditional diamond rings in favor of implants!” (Lmao sure we are… Go back to your applesauce and game show reruns, you old coots!) and acting like dermal are this new thing. To be clear, this isn’t really a trend. Sketchy piercers don’t sell gold and diamonds, and reputable piercers won’t place a dermal on a hand, because of the risk of infection and abnormal scarring, and the fact that it’s unlikely to last longer than a month or two in a high contact area. That’s why you keep seeing the same pics of brand spanking new piercings. It’s fake news

I wouldn’t do it on my hand but I love how they look on the wrist and also as a cleavage accent. My husband isn’t the type to be attentive to where I’ve got a piercing so I’d probably end up with it accidentally ripped out. But I do find them beautiful once healed.

Ow ow ow ow! No, just no. I have piercings but this one is just asking for trouble. Imagine, you go to pick something up and you don’t realize it got snagged on something and you proceed to move your arm and hand…

That’s just a big no.
