That’s pretty awful!

If i were in that store, i wouldn’t care at all! But then again, i suppose i’m more liberal than most.  I expect to see stories like this from the US, but seeing it in canada makes me sad.

I don’t think this is right, I believe that she should have been allowed to try on dresses. I feel like this is an unfortunate thing that will continue happening as society learns how to accept transgenders that have not yet completed their sex change.

Treatment like this is why trans needs to be recognized as an analogous grounds for discrimination under the Charter. I feel sorry for this woman, and I’m glad she was able to find a salon that catered to her needs.

@Songstress_7:  I think that they should have allowed her to try on dresses. I don’t know how that particular store is layed out or anything but I felt super awkward trying on dresses with anyone around (that I hadn’t brought with me). It is my opinion that bridal salons should have individual areas for each bride so that no one feels awkward.

How ridiculous and awful! I wouldn’t go to that store either. Seriously what is so hard about treating people equally and with respect?

@Songstress_7:  What’s controversial about this?  It’s not like she was asking to be put in a change room with someone else where they had to change at the same time.

What kind of dresses do they sell that your junk hangs out?!

Every salon I visited had private dressing rooms or at least a curtain.  I don’t care what I see anyone modeling for their friends and family – I’m there to find my own dress.

I feel like if the designers (which are carried at that store) found out, then there would be some changes.

My heart just breaks at how we treat people sometimes. I hope she wins her lawsuit! I’m really touched by this community, because I haven’t seen anything like that here On thebee.
