I just got another call three days ago saying me and my fiance won a “spectacular” wedding package.  Ugh.

Very frustrating that this info was given out!

Agreed!!  I kept getting calls for months about some stupid “beauty package” I had mysteriously “won” at a bridal show.

Never have been to a bridal show. EVER.

I think it sucks that David’s Bridal is selling that info to like the shadiest business ever.  I googled one of the numbers and it was some at-home makeup seller…she didn’t even have a website of her own or ANY sort of real buisness information.

Same thing with me, I’m super pissed at DB for giving out my info. I get the calls that say you’ve won dinner for you and your Fiance and the spa day from MaryKay when it’s not even a spa day they just want you to buy their products.  I now don’t answer unknown numbers and I don’t return the  calls.

This is why I am glad I still have a land line. My friends, family, health providers, and employer has my cell phone number. I give everyone else my land line number. We don’t bother to answer that phone at all!

Yuck I hate this too…One called and said I won a beauty makeover or something stupid.  So, I won a contest that I never entered??  Get outta here.

ETA: The worst is that I never worked with DB.  I made the classic rookie mistake of signing up for a DB sweepstakes on FB…I see every single one of my engaged friends do this and I just sigh.

Set up a google voice number and a separate email account to use for bridal stuffs.

Part of the fun is reading the transcribed voicemails that these jerks leave… It’s never right ๐Ÿ™‚

Had I known that DB was going to ignore the part where I said I didn’t want them giving out my info I might not have done buisness with them at all! So far I’ve “won” a make over party with me and my bridesmaids, a cake cutting set, and a “dream honeymoon”. All scams all unwanted solititations.

@Asia:  I saw the title of your post and thought, “Uh oh, she went to David’s Bridal.”

Yeah. They are the WORST COMPANY IN THE ENTIRE WORLD. I hate David’s Bridal beyond belief.

My Maid/Matron of Honor got married a few years back and dealt with this garbage, so when I went for my own dress, they tried to have me sign, I made SUCH A STINK.

Me: “No, I won’t put any of my information down on anything because I don’t want my information given away or sold or passed around whatsoever”

DB: “Oh, well all you have to do is check the box at the bottom, and we won’t share your information!”

Me: “NO. You’re a liar. My Maid/Matron of Honor went through this shit two years ago with you people. AND SHE CHECKED THE STUPID BOX.”

DB: “Well I’m sorry for your Maid/Matron of Honor, something must have been mixed up or she forgot to check the box…. but I can assure you, if you check the box, we won’t share your information. We will only contact you to confirm alterations appointments or to tell you your dress has come in.”

Me: “You’re telling me, you’re PROMISING ME, that if I check this box, right here, this one…. I will NOT receive a SINGLE phone call or text or email or letter in the mail EXCEPT for you confirming appointments. That’s a PROMISE?”

DB: “That’s what the box is there for, if you don’t want your information shared! :)”

Me: “-grumble growl grrr- FINE. BUT DON’T YOU DARE SHARE ANY PIECE OF MY INFORMATION WITH ANYONE. You will not get a PENNY from me or any of my bridal party if I receive even ONE contact from someone else.”

— I checked the box, AND wrote all over the paper, in GIANT, CAPITAL, BOLD letters: “I DO NOT WANT TO BE CONTACTED FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER EXCEPT TO CONFIRM APPOINTMENTS.”  I wrote it at the top, the bottom, and even along the SIDE of the page. —

……..And I still got harassed for 10 months.

I had to call the store, yell at some managers, call corporate, file a complaint with the company. They told me 10-14 business days before I’d be off the list. TWO FUCKING MONTHS LATER I WAS STILL GETTING CALLS AND LETTERS AND EMAILS. So I called everyone and raised hell all over again, screaming and cursing and threatening people.

Finally, they stopped.

I hope you have better luck than me.

How weird. I always hear about this happening to people at DB and i checked the box and have not gotten one single call, email, or anything. I’d probably be pretty upset also if it happened to me though. Guess I’m just one of the lucky ones who had a great experience there.

That’s weird. I got one of those calls the other day, stating I’d won some package from DB (ugh). I let the woman “Stacy” ramble on and on, and when she stopped to take a breath, I told her I was declining the package, as my wedding isn’t happening anytime soon! LOL Stupid people.

Google voice (different phone #, no forwarding) and a wedding only email account.  This is the ONLY info that I provide.  My venue has my personal phone and email, but I trust them.  Wedding expos, bridal salons, everyone else gets the wedding contact info.  It makes organization easier too.  You don’t have to sort through personal emails to try and find one particular email from a vendor.

Haha OMG I know!!  Just start messing with them ๐Ÿ˜‰  I had one place call me (I forget the name, but I’m sure some of you have gotten this call) that we won toasting flutes and something else and that we could potentiall win a free honeymoon.  I Googled the number, saw they were full of shit, and naturally didn’t call them back.  Then a few weeks later I get a text message with ALL kinds of typos…apparently now we’ve won toasting FLEETS haha!  What a bunch of idiots!
