I wouldn’t buy it unless they had actual photos of it to show, personally. And even then I’d be a bit wary.

Have you tried messaging any of the folks who have left reviews on etsy? If you’re worried about whether the reviews are for real, you can get try to get in touch with them and see if they are actual people.

Looks like he has a good return policy though. Maybe look into the process of filing a dispute through PayPal or doing a charge-back with your credit card so that you’re prepared just in case things go wrong.

I’ve seen that ring posted here a lot on the bee, so hopefully someone can give you some good feedback. Best of luck!

I say, you should take the picture to a jewler that does custom work, and have them do it!!  I’m not sure where you live, but if it is near Chicago, there are great jewlers on Jewler’s row downtown.

    1) does the seller have any negative reviews? If he was selling crap, someone would have definitely spoken up.

    2) can you buy with PayPal? They offer a lot of protection against getting ripped off.

recently there was a thread about this a few months ago-

This etsy designer needs more attention! AMAZING rings…

no one seems to know why he hasn’t posted pictures, etc.

someone on that thread posted a (crappy) picture of a ring she bought from him, but i get the feeling she’s a troll…

I second Happilyevaafter5‘s suggestion to take the picture to a local jeweler who does custom work and talk to that person about doing something similar.

While the designer has some beautiful CAD images, they don’t have any photos, which is suspicious.  I’ve also seen that seller spam around here.  I agree with going to a jeweler and seeing if they can make something at all similar.

I would go with your gut. If something seems fishy, then stay away!
