If some of you havent read some of my other “Height” Related posts I am very very tiny and petite. At 25 years old I am only about 4ft 10inches tall and about 92lbs
I have been several times seeking out a dress and some places just didnt have anything that felt right and At Davids Bridal they put me in almost every Petite dress they had … some of them were so beautiful but just didnt seem to fit what i wanted ( i wants something pretty but fairly simple, no train, I wanted straps not strapless) or they were SOOOOO heavy I couldnt imagine being comfortable in it all day or even the smallest size was so big on me it was going to cost me a forture in alterations. And i guess where they were all so big on me …. i just felt dissapointed in all of them.
Well I went to this little bridal store we have downtown locally and i was really just looking at dresses for my daughter and was telling the woman my frustration in finding a dress that fit and she recommended looking at some Jr Bridesmaid dresses and i found one that I really liked and it fit my body very well with no alterations but I dunno now i just worry that I dont feel BRIDAL enough in it…..
It fits me well … I think it is pretty… it is simple I worry it might be too simple and I do love that it does not have a train and it is very lightweight and comfortable
I unfortunately dont have any pictures of me in it but I dunno i guess my issues with it now are… I wonder how flattering it is on my body… I think it makes me look a little flat chested and sometimes I wish i had gotten a dress with more poof at the bottom.
So here is a couple of pictures of it … let me know what you think
The dress showed up more ivry in the first picture but it is white
Then the second and 3rd are close ups of the details

I think the dress is very pretty! That’s a great option in dealing with someone who is petite. I think the dress looks bridal and have a feeling it will feel more bridal once you try it on with a veil!

I’m not clear on whether you bought it already or not… It’s a nice dress, but the cut across the bodice is going to make you look flatter than you really are since it’s designed for girls before they’re fully in puberty.
I wonder if you could put a gentle sweetheart in the neckline and some cups in the bodice to help with that?
I would love to see you in it, since maybe it looks totally different on you. Otherwise, it is a pretty dress!

the dress is very pretty! have you thought about going the custom option?

you can definitely do alterations on this dress to make it more sophisticated, for example, putting a sash around the waist to emphasize your figure, altering the neckline to make it look more grown-up, changing the girlish spaghetti straps to a sleeved or strapless dress, etc. Also, you could always wear crinolines under it for extra volume and get a chapel veil for extra length! I think the details are quite pretty.

Yes I have already purchased the dress…..
I had spoken to a couple of places about making a custom dress and the price tag on most of those were pretty hefty alot more than i wanted to spend in my budget and this one came in way under my budget
I will see if I cant try it on later and get a couple pictures of me in it
I think the dress is pretty and there is alot of things i like about it… but there is just a couple of things i dislike but i would say after all the dresses I saw and tried on I liked this one alot more than the others….
My main two complaints are
I wish the bustline was more flattering & I wish perhaps it had a little more detail as far as the beading and sequin
I guess im just kinda sad that I am not “IN LOVE” with everything about the dress.
I just wonder if there is a way to “dress it up” a little more

It is a really pretty dress! You could change the neckline to make it a little more flattering on your chest. Finding a Jr dress is a really good idea though for a fit for you. But if I were you I would definately alter it to make it more “grown up” looking.

ah i think you can definitely modify the sweetheart like mrs. dg said, you could also get more beading sewn onto the bodice… take it to a great seamstress and i’m sure they could change it to your modifications… no biggie and score for coming in under budget…

It’s a very pretty dress but a little plain – sorry
Take the buttons off and put a large brooch or flower, straps out of strong of rhinestones, add more swarovski crystals to the embellishments already on the dress, alter the neckline a little making it more of a sweetheart neckline.
Go all the way with a cathedral veil for the ceremony and a birdcage for the reception – something to make it more bridey.
But, good option for someone your size. There’s not a lot ot there for a really petite bride.
I’d love to see you in the dress.

blah i feel even worse about the dress after reading all of these… I get mistaken for a little girl all the time and it is so frustrating. The last thing I want to do is look like a little girl playing dress up on my wedding day
I had thought about adding a brooch to the dress to perhaps jazz it up a bit but I am so uncertain of how it will look if i take off the buttons and that is the only place to put the broach….

I think it looks very bridal. What about adding a lacy bolero to make it a bit more sophisticated?
