Help me Bees! I am getting married in June of 2013, so yes, I do have lots of time to plan! However, it seems like the basics are escaping me! I need help choosing a color scheme for my Spring/Summer wedding! I am thinking yellow as a main color, but am afraid that my bridesmaids will look awful. I do not have a particularly “favorite” color, and am interested in what you all have in mind!
Let’s hear your ideas, see some boards and share some pictures!
Thanks for you input! Greatly appreciated!

I had a July wedding and my colour was purple. I couldn’t decide so went and got the bridesmaid dresses first, we all picked a dress in a colour that everyone liked and that was that. My only rule was not green, and the Mr’s only rule was not pink!

How about yellow incorporated into shoes / flowers / decorations, but not as the main dress colour if you are worried how it will look?

I was in your position.. I finnally narrowed it down and I do have yellow as one of my colors. 🙂

Pink and yellow = )
Or blue and yellow. Either light blue, navy or turquoise go with it.

@Miss Ridingheart: I agree — yellow is not the world’s most flattering color for most people, unfortunately. But! That’s what flowers, decor, accessories, even shoes are for — to add that pop of coordinating color to their dresses.
What sort of feel are you going for in your wedding? What sort of venue do you think you might want? Different color combinations might “fit” better with different kinds of venues.
Also — what kind of yellow are you most attracted to? A bright canary, tropical feeling yellow? A pale buttery cornsilk kind of yellow? Or a bold brassy mustardy kind of yellow?
Two places that you could go to check out color options — design-seeds.com, which has a bunch of palettes, OR kuler.adobe.com, which lets you upload images you like, and then it picks out colors from that image that “go” together, and then gives you options to modify with different “moods.”
Good luck and happy planning!

Here are some color options for you to consider:

Why not google wedding decoration pictures and see what you’re attracted to? I’m using black, white and turquoise for our wedding in August. You could even save or bookmark pics and go back later and see what common colors you like

I love grey with yellow accents !

I’ve seen a lot of yellow and gray which look awesome. If you’re using a bright yellow I think that a soft pink color as an accent could be pretty too. There’s always navy and yellow as well which always looks good.
I changed my mind three times before deciding! 🙂 My absolute favorite color is purple, his is blue. We wanted to use both and it took SO LONG to figure out how. Eventually we decided on a dark purple, royal blue, and turquoise! The colors are all in the eye of a peacock feather, so we figured it works out.

We’re doing blue as the main color and yellow and red accents. If you want to use yellow a lot of yellow, you could do yellow flowers like I am. I would be afraid to put them in yellow dresses too, not everyone can pull it off.
Yellow and purple would look really cute together.
Or yellow and greenPink, yellow, and orange

I am a June 2012 bride and my colors are white, black, and a touch of hot pink.
Seasons seem to go with a lot of brides color choices, however you don’t have to follow that. (Spring colors are beautiful though)
Gather many pictures of inspiration and you may find that you grabbed many areas of interest in a certain color scheme, theme, ect.
