Pickups. And some funny skirts. But only for me. Some of them look gorgeous on other ladies!

Not sure what the dislike with Corset is all about.  My dress had a bit of corset backing and I LOVED it.  I ended up losing alot of weight and was my saving grace or my dress would of been too lose.  Vice Versa if you gain a few pounds! It is truly the  best way to get a perfect fit to your dress!

I also don’t mind pickups. My dress didn’t have them but as long as they aren’t over done i think they look really nice and especially look great in pictures!!

My dislikes on ME are the following:

      1. Lace – I feel it looks old fashion

        1. Princess Gowns – I’m short and I feel I look ridiculous in them.  I feel they put pounds on me.

          1. Satin Dresses – Too heavy and I couldn’t move

            1. Dresses made out of Tulle. Again, I felt I looked ridiculous and kinda looked cheap on me.

              1. Dresses too trendy looking.  Too much fluffy material or anything extreme.

My dress didn’t end up with any of these details. However, I have seen dresses on other brides that fit this criteria and they look beautiful just not on me!

hhhaaaatttteee pick ups.  Hate them.  Just my opinion though.  I have seen some that dont bother me and some that really do.  Always depends on the dress.

Then again i LOVE lace and i know alot of people dont lol.

Wow.  This thread was like a stab in my gut.  Sad that people “hate” elements of my dress.

@Mars62312: I think you should try not to take it personally. They are only talking about hating certain things for their own dresses. I bet you’d find that if you showed people a picture of you in your dress, eveybody would think it was beautiful on you!

Corset backs come in first for me.  That said, I tried a couple on and I can understand why a bride would want it.  Just not for me.  Pick-ups are my number two.

@bobsoon2bewife9887: Thank you.  Perhaps it’s just the phrasing that gets me?  Typically not a sensitive person, just think that the “it’s not for me” versus “Ugh.  I hate that.  Why would anyone want that?” is much more positive and supportive :o)

Not crazy about pickups, or the style that was popular when it looks like you have multiple layers of skirt and the top skirting cut away to show the skirt underneath, which is usually in a different material. I thought I would hate ruffly skirt, thinking it was too trendy, but when I tried on my dress (Maggie Sottero Alandra) I fell in love, ruffly bottom and all. All my worries about what I’ll think in 30 years left myj mind. If my kids don’t like it in 30 years, oh well. I love it now, so that’s what matters. Then again, my dad wore a powder blue tuxedo to his wedding, so my ruffly dress doesn’t seem so bad, lol.

Sheesh!!! I think everyone hates my dress lol.. It’s corset back, sweetheart neckline, it has some ruching and dropped waist plus the bottom is pretty simple. Oh well to each it’s own…

              But somethings I said a No-No while shopping :

              1) Pick-ups:I cringe at DB pick-ups

              2) Princess Ballgowns: sorry i’m not a kid anymore

              3) Tulle

              4) No long trains, even though I love them getting married on the beach and being 5’2″ doesn’t match lol

              5) No shiny material

              6) All over bling

              7) See through tops….I don’t want my Fiance or Father killing men at the ceremony for looking at me.

              8) Halter Tops

Now, I seen some if not  all of these styles look good on other brides..But, me being short and VERRRRYYYY busty, doesn’t work for me so sweetheart neckline and corset back it is for me.

              I strongly dislike,

              pickups,

              colour on a dress

              lace gowns

see through fabric, not bridal at all!

gowns made of really shinny fabric

gowns made of satin, so heavy!

gowns made of several types of fabric

gowns with WAY to much going on

              sleeves and

the worst element is lace up backs. Its just the designers/alterations staff way of not fitting a gown correctly, plus it look like underwear and so many aren’t done up correctly on the day and you have the fabric ‘tail’ sticking out of your bum, or worse they tuck it in!!!!! ha ha.

I really hate sheer corsets. I just don’t think that they are appropriate for a wedding.
