Years before i met my future husband, my sister was getting married. And while we were looking at dresses for her I found one that wasw just breath taking. It was champange colored, pick up skirt, just enough sparkle for me, and strapless. Now that I am engaged, do you think it’s still made? Nope which makes me a tad bit sad. But I realize that it wouldn’t really fit the theme of our wedding because it was very formal but man oh man I loved it. Now to actually go find THE dress.

I just found one I find utterly amazing today– Claire Pettibone’s Sparrow dress: http://www.clairepettibone.com/bridal/?cp=gowns/sparrow
OH MY GOSH is it amazing!!! When the time comes I will probably figure out how to make one very much like it, since I have always wanted to make my own dress 🙂 Unfortunately these pictures do not do the dress justice, as the pics in the magazine I saw it in (Vermont Vows) do, or as the pics on her website do. Swoon. . .

I would sell my soul for a Jenny Packham or Johanna Johnson dress, easily. Sigh, 1930’s style is so glam. We’re basing our entire wedding off that era.

I know that SO has the ring, so its on as far as getting ideas haha.
Here’s some of the contenders I want to try on.
This is my number 1, easily.

I am pathetic. I’ve bummed around an Alfred Angelo sig store, ALONE, to look at dresses. The sales woman was very kind, I told her up front I’m not engaged but love AA and wanted to look and admire and she had no problem letting me look. She even answered all the questions I had about specifications for dresses and loaded me up with dress porn to take home (catalogs :P)
I also have a binder full of dress cutouts from bridal mags I buy also bc I’m pathetic.
And to top it all off, when I’ve gone with friends who were getting married and dress hunting, I let them twist my arm into trying a few on of my own. AAAHHHH HEAVEN!

I spend WAY too much time searching the internet for this kind of thing. I’ve always pictured myself in a v-neck sheath gown, and I know we’ll have a summer wedding. The first is by Ann Taylor, and the second is by Saja.
