No Spoilers!!!!
My boyfriend and I saw it on Friday night. I was so excited about it coming out, we almost drove to Austin last weekend to see it, becuase it wasn’t in Waco yet. When we heard it was getting nationwide release, we bought our tickets the day before!
Anyway, I’ve never been truly scared by a horror movie. Most of them re just silly to me, I can’t ever lose myself in it and get truly scared. And then there was Paranormal Activity.
Hands down the most disturbing movie I’ve ever seen. The last 20 minutes are STILL bothering me, and it’s been almost 5 days. I’m having trouble sleeping, etc. I almost walked out twice during the last half hour but I knew it was almost over and wanted to see the end. A few people in our screening left. I cried the last 5 minutes straight, and was too shaken up to even go to dinner.
I would give it 4 stars for scariness and 0 stars for being TOO SCARY!
I almost wish I’d never seen it.
Anyone else have any thoughts? Please no spoilers for the other bees!

Wow, that sounds scary! I tend to have nightmares if I watch a really scary movie, so I won’t be watching this one! I have heard from everyone that this movie is so scary, but my Future In-Laws saw it last weekend and told us it was the least scary movie they had ever seen, that they were bored to death, and that they wanted their money back! I guess nothing scares them!!

I am SO excited to see this movie this weekend!! Honestly, I’m a huge horror fanatic (see my blog, haha) and it takes a LOT to scare me. I’ve literally seen hundreds of horror movies from all over the world.
I’ve heard so many good things about this movie, I am so excited to check it out!

I think how much it scares you is directly proportional to how religious you are. If you are pretty religious, as I am, and you have a strong belief in good/evil, God/the devil, etc. then it will have a profound effect on you. There’s no way it won’t.
If you don’t really believe in God or demons or spirits, then it wouldn’t have the same effect. I’d just tell everyone to be prepared. I’m NEVER scared, and this really kinda messed with me.
It’s not like BOO! scary, but just very subtly unnerving. It really gets to you. I’ve told a few people who have asked that they shouldn’t see it. I don’t think its a movie everyone should see.

I so wanted this to scare me, but it just didn’t. The last 5 minutes were kinda scary, but otherwise, I was totally disappointed.

I can’t wait to see it. Fun fact: My Fiance and I, in 2 1/2 years, have NEVER been to the movies together, but I REALLY want to see this one! I am obsessed with horror movies and I love feeling scared! So I’ll have to <span style=”text-decoration: line-through;”>ask tell him to go with me 🙂

I really want to see this movie. I also can’t get scared of horror movies I usually just get grossed out I don’t like lots of blood and guts. Some gore is ok but there is line that too often gets crossed I can’t even enjoy it. One movie we saw that was pretty scary was The Orphanage is spanish with english subtitles. I thought about this movie and its characters for weeks after. I usually never continue thinking about movies like that, books yes movies not usually. Paramonal stuff scares me more than killer movies because I don’t know a whole lot about it.

Side note for those who think they can’t be scared (I’m one of you), check out the French horror movies that have come out lately: Ils (Them), L’Interieur (Inside), and especially Martyrs – I could barely sleep for a week after I saw that one!

I just saw it the other day…it was scary but not keeping me from sleeping at night. I went in to it knowing that I do/don’t believe in certain types of paranormal activity, so it didnt really mess with me. It was scary, and entertaining. I’m glad I saw it, but I don’t think its as bad as some people are making it out to be.

i don’t plan on seeing it because i’m a scaredy cat. lol. stuff like that stays with me for days and since i like sleeping with the lights off, i’ll be staying away from the likes of that movie. haha. that said, i’ve heard mixed reviews on the scary factor.

I am with tea – two friends of mine invited me to see it tonight, but there is no way I would go. After I saw The Ring I was terrified of the TV for a long time! I just can’t do horror. Which is funny, becuase when I was little I used to watch horror all the time. I remember my friend and I watched The Leprechaun when we were in junior high and her little brother came in at the particularly gory scene and had nightmares for months!

Fiance and I plan on seeing it, if it ever gets here! We watched The Last House on the Left the other nite (I quit watching at one point and had to make myself go back upstairs and finish it, but that’s a different story…) and if I managed to get through that one, well I just don’t see another one ever getting to me like that. Although there was nothing “paranormal” about that one, so this one could possibly scare me in a different way.
