yikes! what a jerk! i can’t believe he would be so unprofessional!! amazing.  He apparently doesn’t understand that a potential client should be treated just as if they were a client… b/c, well, that’s how you get the client.  *shaking head*  thanks for the public service!

heheheheh i love this bit "…. if you post something that implies you were or anything else, "

heheeheh so to post that you were not a client of his gives him reason for him to sue you?

I would put a complaint against him in the BBB-he is abusive when you provided polite notification that you were no longer interested in his services.  His tone and candor are not only completely unprofessional they are uncalled for and you never should have had to deal with him like that.  Its not slander reposting his emails as you have–make sure you post on every wedding website you know!  Brides need to know and he needs to know he cannot treat ANYONE-client or not this way and stay in business. He was just rude.  man rude wedding vendors irk me.

do you still have the voicemail????  get a note book, list any calls, time, details ect and keep all the emails

if he wants to start something – you need to have proof of harrasement if it comes to that

Wow, I am with galandrien, you should definitely complain to the BBB. You were just trying to be courteous when in fact you didn’t have to notify him at all that you were hiring another DJ.

Ok, that is just ridiculous. Like others have said, please keep copies of ALL correspondences. This maniac is threatening legal action against you… what planet is he living on? I would contact the BBB immediately and let them know as well. That really pisses me off and I’m so sorry that you have to deal with this BS.

WOW.  WOW WOW WOW this guy is out of control.  Just because you arent a client you dont deserve diplomacy and respect?  His candor is completely unacceptable for someone trying to bring in a clinet base – word of mouth is a powerful thing!  And also, Im pretty sure he doesnt have the right to sue you over anything.  He could try the libel argument, but giving a review is different than falsely slandering someone.  Particularly when you have correspondance to back it up.  Like everyone else said, KEEP COPIES OF EVERYTHING.  MAke hard copies.  And get that voicemail recorded somewhere besides your voicemail.  I truly think he is trying to scare you, I doubt he’d take legal action.  How is he keeping customers with that tone and attitude?!?!?  Out of control…

He can’t sue you for speaking the truth. What an idiot.
